On the afternoon of May 15, in Nha Trang City, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology signed a cooperation agreement in the fields of human resource training, scientific research and technology transfer.
According to the agreement, in the period of 2025-2030, the two sides will cooperate in implementing 5 contents including: building the Branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University in Khanh Hoa; consulting, supporting information and science and technology; training and improving the quality of local human resources; coordinating to promote international cooperation to mobilize local and school development resources.
Another important content of cooperation is scientific research, technology transfer and innovation in the fields of marine technology, logistics, nuclear engineering, construction technology, information technology, artificial intelligence, environment, high technology, clean energy, renewable energy, new materials, oil and gas and geology, aviation engineering, etc. The two sides also agreed to cooperate in 10 fields with 29 specific tasks.
According to Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong - Principal of the University of Science and Technology - Ho Chi Minh City National University, Khanh Hoa will be a regional economic driving force, but there is still a shortage of human resources for science and technology.
With the experience of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University, the location of the school branch and the cooperation contents will contribute to improving the capacity to meet development requirements.
In 2014, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University proposed to cooperate in building a branch in Khanh Hoa. However, for many reasons, it has not been implemented yet.
By May 2025, cooperation was restarted. On May 13, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued a document approving the location for the construction of the branch of the University of Technology - Ho Chi Minh City National University on a land area of 4.3 hectares, part of the 1/2000 scale construction planning project of the Bac Hon Ong school, vocational training and vocational training area, Phuoc Dong commune (Nha Trang city).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan - Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee - emphasized the appearance of the newly oriented Khanh Hoa province.
In particular, the new Khanh Hoa province, after merging with Ninh Thuan, will be the province with the longest coastline in the country and will be a center for marine economy, a national renewable energy center, and a center for valuable seafood and livestock breeding.
Promoting the establishment of a branch school with new and strong training occupations will contribute to creating a source of high-quality intellectual goods, serving the development requirements for the next 5 years of Khanh Hoa.
"When developing a project to develop Khanh Hoa province, there will be 2 vocational colleges, then the Vocational College will be maintained in Phan Rang. In particular, Nha Trang Vocational College will become a branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University, creating momentum for development" - Mr. Tuan informed.
