Strengthening propaganda and swimming skills education
With terrain with many rivers, streams, ponds and long banks, Nghe An is a locality with a high risk of drowning accidents, especially in the summer. To proactively prevent drowning, authorities have stepped up propaganda on grassroots loudspeaker systems, focusing on peak hours.
Popular content includes accident prevention skills, first aid when meeting victims and warning of dangerous areas.
Along with that, local police have conducted a review, put up warning signs, installed barriers at places where drowning often occurs, and assigned forces to check and remind people, especially children, not to swim in unsafe places.
Strengthening swimming teaching and equipping students with skills
Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province said that every year, schools are directed to coordinate with relevant organizations to organize swimming and drowning skills training courses for physical education teachers.
Thereby, teachers can proactively integrate drowning prevention content into physical education classes, contributing to protecting students right in school.
The organization of the Youth Union - Team in the province also actively participated in many specific activities such as supporting life jackets, life buoys, installing safety barriers, organizing propaganda sessions at schools and residential areas.
The above efforts initially recorded positive results when the number of drowning cases decreased compared to last year.
Nghe An aims to continue raising public awareness, building a safe living environment, aiming to minimize drowning accidents among students and children.
