8th grade female student in Quang Nam drowned while being swept away by waves

    Quang Nam - The body of an 8th grade female student swept away by waves while swimming in the sea with a friend was found, after nearly 1 hour of searching between big waves and darkness.

    On the morning of April 8, Quang Nam Provincial Police confirmed the tragic drowning incident that occurred on the evening of April 7 at Binh Minh beach (Binh Minh commune, Thang Binh district).

    At around 6:15 p.m., N.T.A.T (14 years old, residing in Binh Nguyen commune) and her friends went swimming and suddenly encountered a stream of water flowing far from the shore. The friend managed to swim in, while T was swept away and went missing.

    The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force mobilized 1 rescue vehicle, a lighting generator and 8 officers and soldiers to immediately arrive at the scene. After nearly 1 hour of searching efforts, at 7:55 p.m., the victim's body was found and handed over to the family.

    This is the second drowning incident in Quang Nam in just the past 9 days - ringing the bell to warn about safety during the hot season.
