On November 8, 2025, the University of Transport held an inauguration ceremony for key laboratories and the Nippon Steel - UTC international cooperation symbol, marking an important milestone in the school's 50-year journey of development and integration.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Hung - Principal of the University of Transport emphasized that today's event demonstrates the commitment of the State - schools - businesses in accompanying the realization of Resolution 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, along with Resolution 71-NQ/TW on the development of education in the new period.

At the University of Transport, the three-house model is expanded to two more entities: international technology transfer partners and beneficiaries/applicable units (localities, industry agencies), forming an expanded three-house model, ensuring that research results go directly to practice.

Typical experiments that will be used include:
The Road and Bridge structure testing laboratory, part of the Project "Investing in the construction of shared key laboratories in the North, Central and South (phase 2)" approved by the Ministry of Education and Training, with a total investment of 40 billion VND.
The laboratory simulates the monitoring - control - energy saving system of the IoE -AI platform in industry and transport infrastructure, sponsored by HOCYD Vietnam Smart New Energy Engineering Joint Stock Company (under Hop Luc Group).
Smart factory laboratory applying artificial intelligence - sponsored by DACO Company Limited.
Along with that is the symbol commemorating the cooperation between Nippon Steel Group - Japan and the University of Transport, the project made of super light concrete and a clock tower, demonstrating the strong friendship and more than 20 years of joint scientific - training - water-based technology cooperation of the two units.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Dung - Director of the Project Management Board, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) - said that this is one of eight key laboratories sharing the Northern, Central and Southern regions, selected for investment in the second phase of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The goal of the project is to enhance testing and measurement capacity, directly serving training and scientific research in the field of bridges, roads and traffic works.
"This laboratory not only serves one unit, but also expands to training facilities, research institutes, and enterprises in the Northern region and across the country" - Mr. Dung said.
This laboratory will help the school train high-quality engineers, who are solid in theory, good at practice, and have a good understanding of the project; conduct practical application research, solve difficult problems of the transportation industry; promote cooperation mechanisms between schools, businesses and localities, contributing to improving the quality of national transport infrastructure.
In particular, the project is an open-ended laboratory, serving the technical community as a center connecting technical schools, a platform for sharing data, methods, models, and an interdisciplinary research space for mutual development.
"This is the spirit of sharing resources, developing knowledge and improving the quality of national human resources" - Mr. Dung said
The University of Transport is committed to effectively and properly exploiting the sponsorship items; operating optimally to serve students, lecturers, researchers, businesses and units in the industry.
