On August 12, the Border Guard Command of Lam Dong province coordinated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital and sponsors to organize a medical examination program, provide free medicine and give gifts to people in Son My commune, Lam Dong province.
The working group consisted of 24 doctors and nurses who directly examined, consulted on health, ultrasound, measured electricity and heart disease and gave medicine to about 500 people. Including policy families, poor and near-poor households and ethnic minorities.
On this occasion, the program presented 500 gifts (worth VND800,000 each) to support disadvantaged households; presented 5 TVs serving cultural life at Border Guard units and 10 bicycles to poor and studious students in the area.
Speaking at the program, Colonel Tran Viet Hung - Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard affirmed: "This activity not only improves health but also helps people stabilize their lives. Thereby, joining hands with the border guards to participate in maintaining political security, social order and safety, firmly protecting the sovereignty and security of the Fatherland's borders".
On December 6 and 7, Mui Ne Border Guard Station (Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard) coordinated with Thien Binh Thuan Industrial Group and benefactors in the area to organize a relief trip to areas heavily affected.
The delegation presented 300 gifts including necessities and essential items to people in difficulty.
The flood left the school yard and classroom covered with mud. On the morning of December 6, officers and soldiers of the Lien Huong Port Border Guard Station (Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard) were present, along with teachers and parents of Phuoc The 1 Primary School, to clean up the classroom, rearrange tables, chairs, and documents, and be ready to welcome students back to school.
Immediately after the water receded, working groups of the Lam Dong Provincial Border Guard coordinated with local authorities to support people in salvaging sunken ships, moving assets and restoring anchorage.
