The project "Profile My Country" is implemented under the sponsorship and coordinated direction of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Cinema Department, aiming to build a product to promote the image of Vietnam to international friends.
In the coming period, the project officially launches a nationwide casting phase, and also expands to the Vietnamese community living abroad. The casting phase is expected to start from August 15.
According to the implementation team, the selection round does not focus on appearance, age or acting experience. The important criteria are Vietnamese candidates who have love for their homeland, people and culture of Vietnam.
Candidates participating in the casting need to submit a video of up to 1 minute long, sharing feelings about their homeland, a humane Vietnamese story or true thoughts about life and the beauty of the country.
Each individual is only allowed to submit one registration form during the selection period. Detailed information about the rules and registration methods will be announced by the manufacturer in the near future.
A representative of the producer said that the selection of stories from Vietnamese people themselves aims to create a diverse picture of the country, people and culture of Vietnam.
Previously, at the project announcement ceremony on June 30, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said that cinema has a strong spreading power, and can bring the image of Vietnamese destinations, culture and people closer to the international public. He hoped that ministries, branches, localities, cultural departments and press agencies would create conditions for the film crew to film scenes and stories about Vietnam.
Director Luong Dinh Dung said that the project is built from the stories of each region, each Vietnamese person. He shared: "My biggest desire is to tell this brilliant Vietnamese story to the world with everyone.
According to the plan, "Profile My Country" (Vietnam: Beyond Words) is expected to be released on November 24, 2026, then screened at cultural events at home and abroad and released on digital platforms. The project also aims to promote communication in the campaign to promote Vietnam's national image to the world from 2027.
