Sticking to the village, sticking to the people, Lieutenant Hoang Trung Kien (born in 2002) silently contributes to keeping peace at the forefront and receives the trust and love of the local government and people.
To complete the task well, Lieutenant Kien believes in firmly grasping the area, understanding and being close to the people. He not only does a good job of advising but also directly goes to each household to propagate.
In 2025, he and his unit organized 64 sessions to mobilize people to participate in protecting territorial sovereignty and border security with 858 participants. Officers and soldiers also actively helped people harvest crops, relocate barns, clear temporary houses and donate national flags.
Ms. Hoang Thi Ben's family (Long Giang hamlet, Dam Thuy commune) is one of the poor households supported to build a new house. Ms. Ben shared: "My family is a poor household, if it weren't for the border guards and the government's help, I wouldn't dare to dream of having a house like today.
She is familiar with the image of Lieutenant Kien and his comrades regularly visiting and contributing working days to build a spacious house.
Officer Kien not only goes down to talk and then leaves, but also works with the people, lives with the people, understands the circumstances of each household. If there is anything difficult, people call and they are present" - Ms. Ben said. Also according to her, thanks to that dedication, border people always trust and follow.
Besides helping the villagers, Lieutenant Kien also devoted a lot of heart to caring for Dam Van Tuan (9th grade student, Ban Ruoc hamlet, Dam Thuy commune). Orphaned and from a poor family, this Tay ethnic teenager was brought in and cared for by Dam Thuy Border Guard Station from 2023.
From supporting learning conditions to encouraging spirit, Lieutenant Kien and his comrades always accompany him with responsibility like a father and brother.
Teenager Dam Van Tuan confided: "The soldiers feed me rice, take me to school, sew clothes, and also buy toys. I consider them as my parents.
Promoting the pioneering spirit of youth, Lieutenant Hoang Trung Kien proactively advised on organizing the planting of 1,500 trees during the 2025 Tree Planting Tet.
He and the youth union implemented many practical campaigns such as: "Green Sunday", "Volunteer Saturday", "Exam Season Support". The unit also effectively maintained the models "Saving allowances, towards the future", "Green house", "Border Guard puller".
Major Nguyen Viet Giang - Political Commissar of Dam Thuy Border Guard Station said that Lieutenant Hoang Trung Kien always does a good job of advising, helping the unit successfully implement political tasks.
The young official continuously proposed solutions to improve professional capacity, actively working with local authorities to consolidate national defense and security, contributing to firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and building a comprehensively strong border area.
