After the success of Anna Karenina in 2025, the famous Russian ballet - Eifman Ballet will return to Vietnam in October with the ballet "Eugene Onegin". This is one of the works that choreographer Boris Eifman considered the most outstanding in his creative career.
It is known that "Eugene Onegin" will take place from October 21-24 at Hoa Binh Theater (HCMC) and from October 28-31 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi).
The program is licensed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) in coordination with the Vietnam National Opera & Ballet, VTB Bank and Dragon Capital to organize in order to bring top world art works closer to Vietnamese audiences, and at the same time contribute to promoting cultural exchange between Vietnam and the Russian Federation through performing arts.

Eugene Onegin" continues to open up the world of the great poet Alexander Pushkin - where youthful aspirations, choices of fate and late regrets are told in emotional ballet language.
One of the special features of the ballet "Eugene Onegin" is the bold combination of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's music with Alexander Sitkovetsky's Rock compositions. The intersection between classical ballet and contemporary music creates an art space that is both familiar and new, contributing to highlighting the psychologically rich dance language - the style that has made the brand of choreographer Boris Eifman.
According to choreographer Boris Eifman, this is a play directed towards young people - about young people, about the aesthetics in their relationships, along with a combination of classical music and Rock.

Not only conquering professionals, "Eugene Onegin" has also become one of the most successful works of the Eifman Ballet on the international stage. Since its debut in 2009, the play has been performed in more than 40 countries and continuously appeared in the troupe's major tours in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
In recent years, "Eugene Onegin" has continuously appeared in major art centers in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In 2023, the troupe first brought the work to China and then tours in Israel, Brazil, Dubai and many Central Asian countries...
Vietnam continues to appear in the international tour of the Eifman Ballet in 2026. Vietnamese audiences have shown an increasing interest in international-class academic works of art. That reception not only creates conditions for large-scale projects to be realized, but also contributes to making Vietnam an increasingly important destination on the tour map of leading art troupes in the world.
The success of the ballet "Anna Karenina" and then "Eugene Onegin" shows the persistent connection efforts of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) and Art Director Nguyen Bao Anh in building an international cooperation network and developing the public for academic art in Vietnam.
Through large-scale projects, SPO not only brings world classics closer to domestic audiences, but also contributes to affirming Vietnam's organizational capacity for international art programs.
