Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan was born in 1982 and became known after winning the First Prize in Folk Music at Sao Mai 2005.
After winning the award, Tan Nhan studied at the conservatory, then stayed to study at a higher school to get a master's degree, then studied for a doctorate and stayed at the school to work as a teacher. Currently, Tan Nhan is the Head of the Vocal Department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
Sharing about the person who motivated and inspired him strongly, Tan Nhan said: I have been passionate about music since I was a child. Since grade 10, I have had a strong dream of pursuing music and teaching. I have the opportunity to follow Ms. Lan Anh - also my cousin to the Conservatory of Music (now the Vietnam National Academy of Music). When studying here, I look to my teachers to study, to gain more strength. I have learned a lot from Ms. Lan Anh, Ms. Thu Lan, People's Artist Thanh Hoa, People's Artist Trung Kien...
Among them, the person who made me strive, follow, and admire him was my teacher - People's Artist Trung Kien. His lifestyle is like a guideline for all his students, including me. That, becoming an artist is important, but becoming a teacher is even more important".
According to Tan Nhan, Mr. Trung Kien is a talented artist and an exemplary teacher.
"I learned a lot from him, he is a great example in my life. The path he has taken has become an admiration and a monument for us. Teach us, we may not be out in the world yet, but we must strive with our teaching work to bring our students out in the world" - Tan Nhan said.
Therefore, even if he is a singer or a lecturer, Tan Nhan is receptive, demanding, and sets high requirements for himself and the students.
People's Artist Trung Kien has always been considered an exemplary teacher, a love of his profession, devoted to his educational career, he is admired by many generations of students, and an inspiration to many artists such as Trong Tan, Dang Duong, Tan Nhan... People's Artist Trung Kien is the father of musician Quoc Trung. People's Artist Thanh Lam has been a daughter-in-law of People's Artist Trung Kien for 10 years. When he passed away in early 2021, Thanh Lam wrote about him: "Loving and deeply missing".
