On March 18, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that it had directed functional sectors to strengthen solutions to ensure energy security in the face of the complicated developments of military conflict in the Middle East.
According to Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, the military conflict in the Middle East region is continuing to develop complicatedly, seriously affecting the global energy supply chain.
In particular, oil transportation through the Strait of Hormuz - the world's strategic shipping route - is facing many risks, causing crude oil and finished petroleum prices in the international market to rise. This development poses a risk of impacting energy security, production, business and people's lives.
Faced with the above situation, Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with key traders and gasoline and oil distributors in the area to advise the Provincial People's Committee to develop a plan to ensure gasoline and oil supply in all situations.
Proactively monitor and firmly grasp market developments; the supply and demand situation, supply and selling price of gasoline and oil in the area. Promptly detect and report abnormal signs such as goods shortages, unreasonable price increases, supply disruptions or unreasonable sales suspensions.
Strengthen inspection and supervision of gasoline and oil business activities at enterprises and retail stores in the area; require gasoline and oil business establishments to sign commitments to strictly comply with regulations in business operations.
Organize market inspection and control to promptly detect and strictly handle violations such as hoarding goods, creating supply scarcity; stopping sales without legitimate reasons; arbitrarily increasing prices, selling at prices not in accordance with listed prices; trading in smuggled gasoline and oil, of unknown origin...
Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Police to direct commune-level police to provide hotline phone numbers to gas stations and vice versa, in order to ensure smooth information and promptly handle arising situations.
At the same time, send officials to the scene immediately when disputes occur, especially cases of dangerous nature or risk of causing insecurity and social disorder at gas stations; do not allow fires and explosions or crowded gatherings causing loss of control.
For key traders, distribution traders and gasoline and oil retail stores, the Provincial People's Committee requests strict implementation of regulations on gasoline and oil business; develop a plan to create sources, reserves and organize a distribution system to ensure full and continuous supply to agents, authorized stores and retail points in the system.
