Building strong branded enterprises is considered an important driving force to promote innovation and improve the competitiveness of Ho Chi Minh City.

On the morning of July 30, the 6th Ho Chi Minh City Golden Brand Award was officially launched. Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngoc - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade - said that 2026 opens up many opportunities but also poses many challenges for the business community, especially in the context of the city entering a new development phase with the requirement to promote the application of science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and green transformation.

According to Ms. Ngoc, the award is not only an activity to honor outstanding businesses but also a forum to gather strong branded businesses of the city, spread typical development models and encourage businesses to invest in innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, and improve management capacity.

Also according to a representative of the Department of Industry and Trade, in the context of Ho Chi Minh City's development space increasingly expanding, a strong brand will contribute to creating new growth momentum, enhancing the position of businesses and the city in the integration process.

Agreeing with this view, Mr. Pham Phu Ngoc Trai, Chairman of Global Integration Business Consulting Company (GIBC), said that the brand is not just a name or symbol but has become a strategic asset, reflecting the management capacity, creativity and competitiveness of the business.

According to him, when Ho Chi Minh City expands its development space after merging with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau, the growth model needs to shift from industry-based development to integrated thinking, focusing on innovation and added value.

To realize this goal, the city needs to promote regional linkages, improve flexible policies, support innovative businesses, participate more deeply in the value chain, and improve the efficiency of resource allocation in terms of capital, land, human resources and the ability to receive new industries and technologies.
