The program aims to respond to World Environment Day, Action Month for the Environment, World Oceans Day, Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2026; and at the same time launch the emulation movement "All people join hands to protect the environment, for a green - clean - beautiful Vietnam".
Responding to World Environment Day 2026 with the theme "Global Partnership for Climate Action", Quang Ninh continues to identify environmental protection and adaptation to climate change as key tasks in the development process.
The province focuses on promoting green transformation; modernizing the environmental monitoring and surveillance system; strengthening the application of digital technology in resource and environmental management; improving disaster forecasting and warning capacity.
To date, the rate of collection and treatment of domestic waste in the province is maintained at a high level; 100% of operating industrial parks and clusters have centralized wastewater treatment systems; the forest cover rate reaches over 45.8%.
Quang Ninh determines that improving environmental quality and developing synchronous and modern technical infrastructure is one of the important requirements in the process of implementing the orientation of building the province into a centrally-run city according to Conclusion No. 20-KL/TW of the Politburo.
Responding activities are implemented from now until the end of June 2026, peak period from June 1-8.6, focusing on community communication, planting trees, cleaning the environment, collecting plastic waste, protecting the marine environment, restoring ecosystems, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, applying information technology and digital transformation in environmental protection propaganda.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, localities simultaneously launched campaigns to clean up the environment; collect, sort, transport and treat waste; clean traffic roads, residential areas, public places, rivers, lakes, canals, beaches; eliminate waste accumulation points, polluting points; plant, care for and protect green trees.
Within the framework of the program, localities, agencies, and units in the province also launched the emulation movement "All people join hands to protect the environment, for a green - clean - beautiful Vietnam" implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment in coordination with the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Provincial People's Committee.
The movement aims to build regular, continuous emulation activities with specific criteria and evaluate results.
The emulation content includes 5 groups: green - clean - beautiful families; green - clean - beautiful residential areas; green - clean - beautiful communes and wards; green - clean - beautiful agencies, units, schools; green - clean - beautiful businesses and production facilities.
The response activities aim to promote the role and responsibility of the political system, the business community and people in environmental protection, contributing to building Quang Ninh to develop green and sustainably.
