On June 28, 2025, in Tra Lan town, Con Cuong district, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union held a launching ceremony to clean up the environment, sanitize rivers and streams, and clear water flows within the framework of the 2025 Youth Volunteer Campaign.
The program attracted the participation of more than 200 union members and young people from Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Police, union members and young people from communes in Con Cuong district and militia and self-defense forces. Union members have actively participated in dredging, collecting waste and water hyacinth at a section of a polluted stream about 1km long flowing through Lien Tan village, Tra Lan town.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the forces collected garbage, bamboo shoots and waste accumulated for many years in the stream, helping to clear the flow and improve the living environment for local people. A huge amount of waste was collected that morning, and positively affected the landscape of the area.
Accompanying union members, youth and people of Lien Tan village, many gifts were presented, including 100 banh chung, 200 bottles of water, 100 cups of coconut water, and 20kg of fruit for the volunteers participating. The program also had the participation of 1st Runner-up of the 2025 Vinh University Miss and Student Contest Truong Thi Huyen, Ambassador of the Green Summer Campaign of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union.
Nghe An Provincial Youth Union Secretary Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy said: "Environmental protection and climate change response is always an important task of Nghe An youth. Activities such as 'Green Sunday', 'Saturday Volunteers' or coastal cleanup and canal dredging campaigns have become a beautiful symbol of Nghe An youth in environmental conservation and protection".
