On December 1, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a leader of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Affairs Department (under the People's Committee of Ben Tre Ward) said that the locality is reviewing and instructing each household to complete documents to soon arrange stable accommodation for cases affected by landslides at the Ben Tre River bank emergency resettlement project. This is an important step to ensure that people soon stabilize their lives.
According to the leader of the Department of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Areas (Ben Tre Ward People's Committee, Vinh Long Province), immediately after receiving the handover of resettlement land, the Ward People's Committee established a working group to directly go to each affected household to guide the completion of necessary procedures. The inspection was carried out carefully, ensuring the right subjects, compliance with regulations and fairness between households.
"We prioritize processing records for households in areas with serious landslides and high risk. The goal is for people to soon have a safe and stable place to live, no longer afraid. The resettlement support not only helps them feel secure but also creates conditions for them to restore their livelihoods, stabilize and settle down to start a business," said the leader of the Department of Economics, Infrastructure and Urban Areas (BND of Ben Tre Ward).
According to the reporter's investigation, the Vinh Long Provincial Agricultural Project Management Board has handed over 40 resettlement plots under the Ben Tre River embankment emergency evacuation project to the Ben Tre Ward People's Committee. Previously, the Management Board of Investment Projects for Construction of Agricultural Works and Rural Development of Ben Tre Province (now the Management Board of Agricultural Projects of Vinh Long Province) also handed over 55 more resettlement plots to the People's Committee of Ben Tre City, the old Ben Tre Province. Thus, a total of 95 resettlement plots have been transferred recently to serve the work of arranging and stabilizing housing for households affected by landslides.
The Ben Tre River bank landslide resettlement project has a total investment of more than 59 billion VND, invested by the Vinh Long Provincial Agricultural Project Management Board.
This project has a construction scale of over 1.644 hectares, built in the area of Ward 7 and Binh Phu Commune, Ben Tre City, the old Ben Tre Province (now Ben Tre Ward, Vinh Long Province).
The completion of the project and putting it into use will arrange households from areas at risk of landslides on the Ben Tre riverbank and rearrange and rearrange households with housing difficulties as well as relocate households in the planning area for infrastructure development and services according to the plan of the overall socio-economic development of the locality.
