On November 1, a source from a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper said that Mr. Lam Van Tan - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province signed a report on the situation of riverbank and coastal erosion occurring in the area to the People's Committee of Vinh Long province.

In addition, 16 other localities have also proposed to support the construction of landslide remediation works.

In order to promptly support localities in organizing the implementation of reinforcement and landslide recovery works to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the State and people, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province recommends that the Provincial People's Committee consider and approve the policy of providing advance funds from the Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Fund for localities to implement (only arrange an advance payment of no more than 30% of the total of about 60 billion VND from the Fund, in order to prevent cases arising in natural disaster prevention and control work from now until the end of 2025). After completion, localities will organize settlement in accordance with regulations on management and use of the Fund. At the same time, the Department of Finance is assigned to review and propose the use of the provincial budget reserve in 2025, as well as the price of irrigation public products and services to support the remaining funding according to the proposals of localities.

According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters, in Tan Thuy, Thoi Thuan, Dong Hai communes and Truong Long Hoa ward (in Vinh Long province), the situation of rising sea level, eroding deep into the mainland is causing serious erosion along the coast.
