On November 7, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province issued a plan to implement the Expanded Immunization Program (TCMR) for the period 2026 - 2028, to ensure adequate, timely, safe and effective supply of vaccines in the province.
The goal of the plan is to maintain and improve the quality, efficiency and sustainability of the TCMR Program; protect the payment results of policies for paralysis, eliminate newborn tetanus and move towards eliminating diseases with vaccines for prevention. In addition, the plan also aims to deploy new vaccines, if any, according to specific instructions of the Ministry of Health.
Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee set a target of achieving an vaccination rate of 90 - 95% for each vaccine in the TCMR Program; monitor infectious diseases controlled by vaccines annually.
At the same time, it determined the need to use 12 vaccines in the 3-year period, including: Hepatitis B, Lao, DPT-VGB- Hib, Oral thrush, Injected thrush, Measles, Measles - Rubella, Japanese Encephalitis, Scoliosis, DPT, Td and Rota.
In total, in the period of 2026 - 2028, Khanh Hoa plans to use about 2,060,968 doses of vaccine for children and pregnant women, as well as to vaccinate to compensate for cases that have not been vaccinated or have not received enough doses in previous years.
Of which, in 2026, about 712,800 doses will be used; in 2027, it will be 665,662 doses and in 2028, it will be 682,506 doses.
The Department of Health will base on the actual situation to adjust annual use needs, ensuring efficiency and suitability with the locality.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Health as the standing agency, advising and directing the implementation of the TCMR Program.
The People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones shall base on the province's plan to develop a specific plan, in accordance with the local situation; coordinate with regional health centers to implement it safely and in accordance with regulations.
Localities are also required to strengthen inspection and supervision, while mobilizing the participation of Party committees, authorities and grassroots organizations in propaganda and mobilization of parents to take their children for vaccination, ensuring security and order at vaccination points.
