Journalism in the flow of digital technology
Currently, modern users not only search for information quickly but also expect content to be in-depth, intuitive, and easy to access on all platforms. Meanwhile, social networking platforms, automatic news reading applications and personal news suggestion systems are increasingly dominating the market, thereby posing great challenges for traditional journalism. This requires press agencies to not continue operating according to the traditional model, but to be forced to switch to a new way of doing things, based on technology and data.
New journalism trends such as data journalism, explanatory journalism, mobile journalism and Multimedia content production are being strongly applied by many news agencies around the world.
In addition, the use of AI technology in stages such as: Analyzing reader trends; proposing topic ideas; editing content; suggesting news suitable for each reader, ... helps the information production process become smarter and more effective.
Not only technical support, artificial intelligence also contributes to reshaping the working model, with the appearance of "digital reporters" - those who are capable of using technology to record, film, create graphics, manage and process data with just a mobile phone.
Changing to catch up and adapt
As a reporter at the Multimedia Center - Lao Dong Newspaper, I witnessed the changes of Lao Dong Newspaper in the face of digital transformation and the trend of modern journalism that is fundamentally changing the way of operating, organizing, producing and distributing information.
Previously, a reporter's job was often limited to going on field trips, writing articles, submitting articles and waiting for editors. But now, that process has changed completely. Currently, all of us journalists and reporters are fluent in digital content production tools. In particular, artificial intelligence (AI) tools are reported to be integrated in cms.

For each multimedia reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, we almost have to take care of everything from the idea to the final product. However, now, my work has become much simpler and more effective. After completing the work, the newspaper's AI tools will automatically check and make errors in the article in less than 3 seconds - a job that I previously took a long time to complete.
In addition, these tools also provide suggestions on titles and SEOs to optimize them for easy reach to readers. Because of that, the number of views and feedback from readers after each of my works has been significantly improved.
The continuous application of digital transformation updates and artificial intelligence in the news agency's processes has helped our staff, reporters, and editors optimize their work and use time accurately and effectively.
For that reason, in 2023, Lao Dong Newspaper is in the Top 3 press agencies achieving the excellence level in digital transformation announced by the Department of Journalism (Ministry of Information and Communications). Entering 2024, at the Conference "National Press summarizes work in 2024 and deploys tasks in 2025", Lao Dong Electronic Newspaper has risen to become the leading newspaper among central press agencies in terms of maturity in digital transformation of excellent journalism in 2024.
Not stopping there, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the first newspaper issue, Lao Dong Newspaper continues to launch an English version on the website laodong.vn. The English version of Lao Dong Electronic Newspaper is considered an important step forward for Lao Dong Newspaper on the journey of digital transformation of the press and towards international readers.
Entering 2025, Lao Dong Newspaper will continue to promote the application of AI tools in all professional activities of the newsroom. Integrating AI into the CMS system (both on paper and electronic newspapers) has a clear supporting effect in early detection of errors, completing articles, optimizing SEO suggestions, Tags and helping speed up the progress of news production. AI tools are also effectively supporting reporters and editors of Lao Dong Newspaper in speeding up the completion of video products, multimedia works that require many images, body graphics with high requirements for design, art...
