Working hours norms for teachers teaching intermediate level

Article 8 of Circular No. 05/2026/TT-BGDĐT stipulates the working regime for professional education teachers (effective from February 12, 2026) stipulates the standard hour norms as follows:

1. Standard hours for college-level teachers: from 350 to 450 standard hours.

2. Standard hours for teachers teaching intermediate level: from 400 to 510 standard hours.

3. Standard hours for primary level teachers and other vocational training programs: from 450 to 580 standard hours.

4. Standard hours for teachers teaching general subjects in one school year are 450 standard hours for teachers teaching college level and 510 standard hours for teachers teaching intermediate level.

5. Standard hour norms for teachers holding positions of educational institution management officials, teachers working in professional departments and divisions (holding the title of lecturer, teacher in vocational education activities) are as follows:

a) Principals, directors: 8% standard hour norm;

b) Vice principals, deputy directors: 10% standard hour norms;

c) Head of Department and equivalents: 14% of the standard hour norm;

d) Deputy Head of Department and equivalent: 18% standard hour norm;

e) Teachers working in professional departments and divisions: 20% of standard hour norms.

6. Standard hour norms for teachers assigned to teach the pedagogical capacity training program for teachers in vocational education institutions applying standard hour norms for college-level teachers.

Thus, from February 2026, teachers teaching intermediate level will have working hours norms according to the above regulations.
