Clause 1, Article 17 of Circular No. 30/2026/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training stipulating professional standards for teachers of general education institutions (effective from April 14, 2026), stipulates the following applicable clauses:
1. Some cases identified as meeting the standards for training qualifications for primary school teachers include:
a) Teachers assigned to teach computer science and technology with a bachelor's degree or higher in teacher training in computer science or technology or industrial engineering or agricultural engineering or a bachelor's degree or higher in a suitable major for computer science, technology, agricultural engineering, industrial engineering. In case of having a bachelor's degree or higher in a suitable major, they must have a certificate of pedagogical professional development for primary school teachers according to the program issued by the Minister of Education and Training;
Clause 2, Article 16 of Circular No. 30/2026/TT-BGDDT regulating professional standards for teachers of general education institutions stipulates transitional clauses, in which:
2. Teachers in general education institutions who are recruited, received, or changed to the position of primary school teacher, secondary school teacher, and high school teacher before the effective date of this Circular are not required to meet the standards of having a professional development certificate for primary school, secondary school, and high school teachers.
Thus, from April 14, 2026, to become a high school teacher teaching informatics in primary schools, individuals must meet the training standards according to the above regulations.
