The Ministry of Education and Training emphasizes that the school year time plan of localities must ensure enough 35 weeks of actual study (semester 1 has 18 weeks and semester 2 has 17 weeks). Based on the time plan for the 2025-2026 school year issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, the locality will decide the summer vacation schedule for students, preschool teachers, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools but must ensure that the summer vacation time is before May 31, 2025.
According to the framework plan for the 2025-2026 school year of Hanoi, the end time of the first semester is before January 18, 2026; the end of the school year is before May 31, 2026.
Similarly, in some provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Lao Cai, Khanh Hoa, Lang Son, Bac Ninh,... the end date of the previous school year is May 31, 2026.
In Quang Ninh, the end time of the 2025 - 2026 school year is as follows: Preschool and Primary school is May 29, 2026; Secondary school and continuing education is May 30, 2026.
