On April 22, Ba Ria - Vung Tau organized a meeting with local resistance participants before April 30, 1975 with the theme "Stopping a river strip", on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Ba Ria - Vung Tau (April 27) and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification.
There were about 500 delegates who have participated in the resistance war; leaders and officials of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province attended the meaningful program.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Party Committee - expressed her gratitude to the heroic Vietnamese Mothers, previous generations, to the relatives of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the revolution, war invalids, ... who sacrificed their lives to write the heroic history of the country.
"Every person participating in the resistance war is a part of the national heroic song, where blood, tears, sweat, courage, and indomitable spirit combine to create victory... The sacrifice of previous generations is an invaluable spiritual asset, a source of strength for us to continue to steadfastly walk on the path to build our homeland and country to become increasingly prosperous, happy, mighty, and prosperous," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen.
In the program, the delegates also shared and recounted stories about their participation in the resistance war, participating in the battles of Ba Ria - Vung Tau liberation; tears of joy welcoming Uncle Ho's soldiers returning home after the campaign; together recalling memories during the revolution, participating in the resistance war in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
