The 33rd SEA Games marks the 7th time Thailand has hosted the Southeast Asian Games.
This SEA Games will take place from December 3-21 (focused on December 9-20), including 50 sports with a total of 574 competition events.
Thailand aims for a standard organization model, minimizing local sports and increasing the proportion of Olympic sports.
The exam subject system is divided into 3 groups:
Group 1 includes compulsory and maximum priority sports in terms of quantity such as water sports, athletics, archery, badminton, basketball, cycling, boxing, hockey, judo, shooting, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, triathlon, volleyball, physical education, figure skating, golf, ice and badminton and weightlifting.
Group 2 includes expanded sports such as softball - softball, billiards, boxing, excelled sports, muay, netball, pencak silat, cloud golf, bowling, karate, jujitsu, wushu, kabaddi, kickboxing, wood ball and chess.
Group 3 includes 12 events in performance events such as disc throwing, tug of war and aerial sports (excluding medals).
In this congress, the host country kept Muay and pencak silat but eliminated many less popular martial arts, including vovinam or diving... Thailand also added winter sports such as ice skating and ice badminton thanks to existing facilities.
The 33rd SEA Games has the participation of 11 countries in the region.
