On January 29, the Organizing Committee of Military-Civilian Tet activities of An Giang province in 2026 held a ceremony to hand over Great Solidarity houses to households in Hoa Dien commune.
At the ceremony, the Great Solidarity House was handed over to the family of Mr. Vo Van Thanh, born in 1968, a household with difficult housing circumstances, the old house was seriously degraded but could not be repaired.
The house handed over during this occasion has an area of nearly 80m2, a corrugated iron roof, and a floor lined with cement bricks, worth over 80 million VND per house. Of which, the funding source is supported by the An Giang Provincial Military-Civilian Tet Activities Steering Committee with 60 million VND, and the remaining amount is contributed by the family themselves.
Speaking at the house handover ceremony, Major General Nguyen Van Nganh, Commander of An Giang Provincial Military Command, sent congratulations to the families who were handed over their houses during this year's traditional Tet holiday and wished the households a new, happier and warmer spring; after having a new house, they will promote the spirit of overcoming difficulties and rising up, striving to develop the family economy to become increasingly stable, joining hands with the government to build the locality to become increasingly rich and beautiful, and maintain national defense and security.

Also this morning, a delegation of officials led by Colonel Huynh Van Khoi, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, also came to hand over houses of great solidarity to Mr. Vo Van Nhieu, born in 1977 and Ms. Duong Thi Y, born in 1957. Each house handed over has an area of 40m2 or more, a corrugated iron roof, a floor lined with cement bricks, worth 70 million VND each, which is deducted from the funds mobilized by the Steering Committee for Tet Military-Civilian activities in 2026 to support philanthropists and benefactors in the district.
