On August 26, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai - Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee - said that in the two resistance wars against France and the US, Ca Mau - Bac Lieu is a land with a particularly important strategic position, this place has become a solid revolutionary base of Zone 9, the Southern Party Committee and the Central Committee of the Southern Sub-Department.

Many places, such as Cai Chanh, Noc Nang, U Minh, Hon Khoai, Nam Can, Dam Doi, Cai Nuoc, Cha La... have been associated with the battles and glorious feats of the local army and people, becoming symbols of the indomitable patriotism of the people of Ca Mau - Bac Lieu.
After April 30, 1975, the revolutionary government took over and reorganized the administrative apparatus. On February 17, 1976, according to the National Assembly's Decision, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces were merged into Minh Hai province.
During 20 years of formation and development (1976 - 1996), Minh Hai province played an important role in restoring and developing the economy after the war, building infrastructure, reorganizing population, and boosting agricultural and fishery production.

From January 1, 1997, Minh Hai province was divided into two provinces, Ca Mau and Bac Lieu, and on July 1, 2025, it was merged into the new Ca Mau province as it is today.
Throughout that history, the Party Committee, government and people in the province have always been united, promoting the steadfast and indomitable revolutionary tradition, overcoming all difficulties and challenges.
The solidarity, determination, joint efforts and unanimousness of the entire political system and the efforts of contributions and assistance of organizations and enterprises inside and outside the province have made an important contribution and created momentum for the development of the province, Mr. Hai emphasized.
The Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee affirmed that in the coming time, the entire Party Committee will continue to synchronously deploy development strategic breakthroughs, associated with the effective implementation of the "four pillars" of the Politburo on science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, international integration, law-making and enforcement, and private economic development.

In particular, rebuilding the overall socio-economic development strategy for Ca Mau province in a methodical and scientific manner, with a long-term vision. This is a strategic task, deciding and shaping the province's new position on the national development map.
After the merger, the new province of Ca Mau has an area of 7,942.39 km2, a population of over 2.1 million people, with many advantages in ecological and intensive shrimp farming, potential for marine economic development, renewable energy, tourism and logistics services.
Mr. Tran Thanh Khiem - Former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Council - expressed his confidence that from marine resources to agriculture and tourism, Ca Mau is firmly moving forward on the path of development, a land with many unique cultural heritages, where there are outstanding interesting customs and practices with the unique intersection of the three ethnic groups Kinh, Hoa, Khmer expressed through traditional festivals, especially the art of Southern Talented Song of the South, with the famous ancient Ha Noi Da by musician Cao Van Lau, which pioneers the ancient art form of Southern hopes and salaries, a symbol of artistic creativity along with the cultural values that the people here have preserved for generations.

Representing the young generation, Deputy Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Youth Union Nguyen Trang Anh Thu promised to strive to work hard for her homeland and country.
On this occasion, Ca Mau province also presented Party badges; awarded the Labor Medal to individuals with many achievements.
