Cam Duong mobilizes more than 279 million VND to support disadvantaged students

Lao Cai - More than 279 million VND and computers, bicycles were mobilized to support 117 students in particularly difficult circumstances in Cam Duong ward.

On the afternoon of September 11, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Duong ward organized a program to give gifts and support students in particularly difficult circumstances on the occasion of the new school year 2026 - 2027.

The program has mobilized more than 279 million VND, 16 computers and 28 bicycles, supporting 117 students in particularly difficult circumstances in the area.

Implementing the ward Party Committee's plan on sustainable poverty reduction in 2026, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward coordinated with the People's Committee, socio-political organizations, schools and related units to review the circumstances and needs of students; and at the same time mobilize businesses, collectives, individuals and philanthropists to join hands to support.

Through review, the whole ward has 390 students in difficult circumstances. On the opening day, 349 students were given gifts by the Ward Association for Promoting Education.

This program focuses on students in particularly difficult circumstances who urgently need support.

In which, 10 students from poor and near-poor households are supported with 1 million VND/student/month, with a total budget of 120 million VND/year.

27 students were supported with semi-boarding meals for 9 months, with a total budget of 109.35 million VND.

In addition, 20 students were awarded scholarships with a total value of 40 million VND; 16 students who are children of trade union members and workers in difficult circumstances were supported with money and vision protection lamps.

For means and learning equipment, the program awarded 28 bicycles and 16 computers. Gifts are prioritized for students in difficult circumstances, with urgent travel and study needs.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Thuan Hung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Cam Duong ward acknowledged the joint efforts of businesses, organizations, individuals and philanthropists; and at the same time wished the children to continue to strive to study, train, overcome circumstances to rise up.

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Cam Duong ward, the resources in the first phase have not fully met the actual needs. The unit will continue to review, connect and mobilize more resources to support students who are still in difficulty.

The program contributes to the implementation of the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, social security care and adds conditions for disadvantaged students to go to school, study and develop.
