Speaking at group 1, the discussion group of the IX National Congress of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Mr. Huynh Cong Minh - representative of the delegation of the Dong Thap Provincial Farmers' Union, expressed high agreement with the draft Political Report and documents submitted to the Congress.
According to Mr. Minh, the most satisfying content in the draft document is the direction of building new Vietnamese farmers to promote the role of subjects and centers in the development of ecological agriculture and modern rural areas; at the same time, identifying digital transformation and collective economic development as breakthrough tasks to improve the qualifications and skills of farmer members in the next term.
From the reality in Dong Thap, he believes that to develop farmers in the new stage and promote the sustainable development of the collective economy, strong innovation is needed.
Over the past time, Dong Thap has focused on building the "professional farmer" model, identifying farmers as the subjects of the agricultural development process. With the leadership and direction of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and the coordination of sectors, the implementation of this model has achieved many positive results.
From that reality, Mr. Huynh Cong Minh proposed that the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union study and develop a unified set of criteria to evaluate and measure the "professional farmer" model nationwide.
According to him, this is a new approach, being effectively implemented by Dong Thap and may become a basis for localities to organize synchronous implementation in the coming time.
In addition, he proposed to continue to pay attention to consolidating and developing the Farmers' Support Fund. Currently, farmers' capital needs are very large while accessing capital from credit institutions still faces many difficulties.
The innovation of the Farmers' Support Fund's activities will create more resources for members to develop production, and at the same time contribute to attracting and gathering a large number of farmers to participate in the Association organization.
Contributing opinions to the draft amendment of the Charter of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, Mr. Minh expressed high agreement and proposed to soon study and supplement the content of digital transformation into the Charter of the Union, as a basis for building digital branches, digital farmers' association groups and digital members, meeting the requirements of the new development stage.
In addition, he also proposed to expand the gathering subjects of the Association, especially members of cooperatives and businesses operating in the agricultural sector. According to him, this will be an important resource, creating more motivation for the development of the Association organization in the coming time.
Mr. Phan Nhu Nguyen - Standing Vice Chairman of the 8th Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union acknowledged and highly appreciated the opinions of the Dong Thap delegation.
According to Mr. Phan Nhu Nguyen, delegates basically agreed with the contents of documents submitted to the Congress, and at the same time proposed a number of issues for the Central Association to continue to study and orient in the coming time, especially the content of building Vietnamese farmers in the new period and amending and supplementing the Association's Charter.
He said that the opinions related to concretizing the policy of digital transformation in the Association's work and the farmers' movement will be received, summarized, and reported to the Congress by the Presidium for further research, completion, and appropriate supplementation in documents as well as the orientation of the Association's activities in the coming time.
