To celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), a working delegation led by Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of Lao Cai province - visited Mr. Truong Thanh Ly - a resistance activist who was infected with chemical toxins after participating in the Central Highlands Campaign and the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.
The delegation also visited Mr. Hoang Van Lot - a veteran who fought in battlefield B, currently suffering from chemical toxin sequelae with a high rate of body injury, and Mr. Hoang Van Chieu - a 4/4 wounded soldier, who participated in fighting to protect the northern border at the Cao Bang front.
Although their health is heavily affected by injuries and war sequelae, wounded soldiers and sick soldiers still strive to rise up in life, actively participate in production, participate in local movements and contribute to educating revolutionary traditions for the young generation.
At the families, Mr. Nguyen The Phuoc cordially inquired about the health and life and expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, resistance activists and families of people with meritorious services to the cause of national liberation and defense of the Fatherland.
Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lao Cai province hopes that families will continue to promote revolutionary traditions, be role models for their children and grandchildren to follow, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, contributing to building an increasingly developed homeland.
At the same time, he requested the Party committees and local authorities to continue to pay attention to effectively implementing preferential policies for people with meritorious services, supporting families to develop the economy and improve the quality of life.
Within the framework of the working trip, the delegation also attended the inauguration ceremony of the new house of Mr. Hoang Van Toai's family - the son of a resistance war activist infected with chemical toxins. Mr. Toai's family is eligible for temporary and dilapidated house removal support.
The completed house coincides with the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, not only helping the family have a stable and safe place to live, but also showing the concern of the Party Committee, government and the joint efforts of the entire political system in caring for the lives of people with meritorious services to the revolution.
