On September 19, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFFC) of Vung Tau ward (Ho Chi Minh City) coordinated with the Ward People's Committee and the Ho Chi Minh City Environmental Protection Fund to organize a program to respond to the Campaign "Making the World Cleaner" in 2026, with the theme "Joining hands to reduce plastic waste - For Green, Clean, Beautiful Vung Tau".
The program received the attention of a large number of agencies, units and people in the area participating in and responding to activities taking place in Bai Truoc area, Vung Tau ward.
In the program, the Ho Chi Minh City Environmental Protection Fund introduced programs and policies to support and lend capital, creating conditions for businesses, organizations and individuals in need to access environmental protection resources.
At the same time, the "Community bag storage station" model is being piloted at 2 markets in Vung Tau ward and fabric bags are being donated. In which, the model will receive paper bags, fabric bags, clean nylon bags that are still in good use and biodegradable bags to share with those in need.
After receiving and deploying at 2 traditional markets, functional forces will continue to mobilize and propagate people to participate, gradually forming practical bags sharing and reuse points in the community, contributing to spreading a green lifestyle.
In the program, participants also experienced the mini game "Green Challenge - Clean Vung Tau" with questions related to plastic waste, waste sorting, sea protection, environmental sanitation... At the same time, launching a general cleaning campaign to collect garbage along Bai Truoc beach and public coastal areas; sorting recyclable waste.
According to the People's Committee of Vung Tau ward, each action we take today contributes to creating a green Vung Tau in the future. In which, reducing one plastic bag is reducing a part of the waste generated; classifying the right plastic bottle is creating more opportunities for reuse and recycling; not throwing garbage into the sea, canals or public places is contributing to protecting each person's own living environment.
Through this, it is proposed that people join hands to implement practical actions such as reducing plastic waste from the source; forming the habit of reusing, recycling, and sorting waste at source from each household; absolutely not littering indiscriminately; spreading green actions to the community.
Through the program, Vung Tau ward aims to raise awareness and promote behavior change in the community to contribute to preserving the marine environment and urban environment.
