Hanoi - 100 days of digital transformation, Kim Lien ward organizes a livestream to bring products and the story of the will of people with disabilities closer to the community.

On the evening of September 9, Kim Lien ward cooperated with Thuong Thuong Handmade social enterprise to organize a livestream session to introduce products made by people with disabilities. Not stopping at product promotion, the livestream session brought the story of workers with special circumstances closer to the community.

Ms. Le Thi Kim Hue - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of Kim Lien Ward People's Committee - said that the livestream session is part of a series of activities to respond to the 100 days of peak digital transformation of Hanoi city.

According to Ms. Hue, through the digital platform, the locality wants to introduce products made in the area, and at the same time bring digital transformation activities closer to the lives and business activities of people.

We want each livestream session to have its own story, thereby introducing products and the values behind products," Ms. Hue said.

With the livestream session on the evening of September 9, the chosen story is the working journey of people with disabilities. Ms. Dinh Huong Ly - Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of the Kim Lien Ward Youth Union - said that she directly accompanied the livestream session. The products introduced this time have a special feature when behind each product is the perseverance of people with health limitations but still trying to work, creating products with their abilities.

We hope that through livestreaming, more people will know about the product, and also understand more about the story of the willpower of people with disabilities," Ms. Ly shared.

Thuong Thuong Handmade was established by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Thuong in 2013, aiming to provide vocational training and create jobs for people with disabilities and people with terminal illnesses.

Ms. Thu Thuong also directly participated in the livestream session. She said that the products are made through many stages, from processing small paper strands, rolling, assembled and then shaping into complete products.

Ms. Thuong herself suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta. Walking must be very careful, many personal activities require support. When working, she cannot sit in the usual way but often has to lie on her side. Weak hands, limited viewing angles make product completion take a lot of time.

You can finish a product in two or three days, but if you do it yourself, it will take almost a week to finish," Ms. Thuong said.

Despite many limitations, she still maintains her job and wishes to have a wider space for people with disabilities to work, live and learn a trade. She also hopes that this place can welcome students to experience, thereby better understanding the work and willpower of people with disabilities.

Sharing about the livestream session, Ms. Thuong said that she feels happy that the local government is interested in and creates conditions to introduce products. According to her, this is an opportunity for products to reach more people, and at the same time help the community learn about the work that people with disabilities are persistently doing.
