Can you tell us the position and role of the Trade Union organization in the current system of the Vietnam Fatherland Front?
- Comrade NGUYEN KHANG: From July 1, 2025, the Vietnam Trade Union officially became a member organization directly under the Vietnam Fatherland Front, stipulated in the Constitution (amended and supplemented) and the Law of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (amended and supplemented). This both enhances the political position of the Trade Union organization, and emphasizes the role of the Trade Union in representing workers and participating in common activities of the country. The trade union has just continued to perform its functions, while further strengthening its role as a supervisor and social critic, contributing to consolidating and strengthening the great national unity bloc.
In the Vietnamese political system, the Vietnam Fatherland Front is a broad political alliance, gathering socio-political organizations. The trade union is a large mass organization of the working class - the leading class through the pioneering team of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the leading force in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, a core and active member of the Front and a bridge between the Party, the State and workers.
Trade unions play an important role in propagating and mobilizing workers to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; participate in social supervision and criticism; contribute to building a clean and strong Party and government. Through the Fatherland Front, the Trade Union has favorable conditions to more effectively promote its role as a representative, protect the rights of workers, promote socio-economic development, especially in terms of labor policy, employment and social security.
In the context of current integration and development, the Vietnam Trade Union will continue to innovate its content and methods of operation, and be more closely associated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to maximize the strength of the great national unity bloc. Enhancing the role and position of the Trade Union not only contributes to protecting the rights of workers but also strengthens the class alliance, strengthens the great national unity bloc, and makes a practical contribution to the political - social stability and sustainable development of the country.
In the great national unity bloc, the Trade Union represents the working class - the main productive force of society. Can you tell us how this is reflected in the coordination with the Fatherland Front?
- Comrade NGUYEN KHANG: The working class plays a core role in the alliance of the working class with the working class and the intellectual and foundational team of the great national unity bloc. As an organization representing this force, the Vietnam Trade Union not only protects the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers but also actively participates with the Vietnam Fatherland Front in consolidating the great solidarity bloc, promoting the strength of the entire people.
Through patriotic emulation movements such as "Good workers, Creative workers", "All people unite to build a cultural life", "The whole country joins hands for the poor", the Trade Union contributes to arousing the sense of responsibility, awareness of citizens and patriotism of workers. Thereby, workers are encouraged to actively participate in major movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
In addition, the Trade Union, the Fatherland Front, and socio-political organizations participate in monitoring and social criticism, especially in related policies on wages, employment, social security, occupational safety and hygiene. This coordination helps ensure that the voices of workers are listened to, contributing to building a clean, strong, close-knit Party and State to the people.
Another point is that the Trade Union accompanies the Fatherland Front in caring for people's lives, supporting workers, especially poor workers, those in difficult circumstances, those who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, etc., contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the Party, the State, the Fatherland Front and the Trade Union.
Dear comrade, could you tell us how the relationship between the Vietnam Trade Union and the Vietnam Fatherland Front has been demonstrated through coordination mechanisms?
- Comrade NGUYEN KHANG: Before officially becoming a member organization under the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Trade Union and the Vietnam Fatherland Front were two important member organizations in the political system; the Trade Union organization was an active member of the political alliance and voluntary association chaired by the Fatherland Front, together aiming to promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, building a democratic, fair and civilized country. The relationship between the two organizations is demonstrated through many close, regular and effective coordination mechanisms.
The coordination content focuses on propaganda and mobilization of workers, civil servants, and laborers to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and policies; participate in patriotic emulation movements, major campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front such as "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized cities", "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", "The whole country joins hands for the poor" ... Coordinate in social supervision and criticism, especially for policies related to workers, wages, social insurance, occupational safety and hygiene, and social welfare. The Trade Union and the Fatherland Front coordinate in caring for people's lives, supporting poor workers and laborers in difficulty, especially during Tet, natural disasters, and epidemics. This coordination clearly demonstrates the spirit of humanity and solidarity, contributing to strengthening the people's trust in the Party and the State. Thanks to flexible, effective and practical coordination mechanisms, the relationship between the Vietnam Trade Union and the Vietnam Fatherland Front has been increasingly strengthened, contributing positively to the political and social stability and sustainable development of the country.

Can you tell us, in major movements such as "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", "The whole country joins hands for the poor", how has the Trade Union organization promoted its role?
- Comrade NGUYEN KHANG: Not only performing well the function of representing, caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers, the Trade Union organization is an active member, effectively participating in emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front such as "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", "The whole country joins hands for the poor", "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods".
In the movement to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas, trade unions at all levels have actively promoted and mobilized union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers to practice a civilized lifestyle, maintain environmental hygiene, and participate in renovating workplaces and residential areas. The grassroots trade unions have organized the movements "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene", "Workers for a green city", contributing to improving the appearance of rural and urban areas and improving the quality of community life.
For the movement "The whole country joins hands for the poor", the Trade Union organization has many initiatives and solutions to promote the spirit of mutual love of the working class. Trade unions at all levels regularly organize to mobilize union members and workers to actively contribute to support the "For the Poor" Fund and social security programs launched by the Fatherland Front. The programs "Tet Sum Vay" and "Union Shelter" have become a unique beauty, helping thousands of workers and laborers overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. From the mobilized funds or in coordination with other organizations, the Trade Union supports the construction and repair of "Union Shelter", Great Unity House, giving gifts, giving scholarships to children of poor workers and many other practical forms of support, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of those in difficult circumstances. In addition, the Trade Union organization coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and local authorities to implement activities to support the poor in developing production and rising out of poverty sustainably. In addition, the Trade Union has strengthened information and propaganda work to raise awareness among union members and workers about the humanistic meaning of movements, thereby promoting the tradition of "mutual love", "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" of the nation...
Through these practical activities, the Trade Union not only affirms its role as a representative and caregiver for the material and spiritual life of workers but also contributes significantly to the implementation of social security goals, strengthening the great national unity bloc. This is a vivid testament to the proactive role and high social responsibility of the Vietnam Trade Union in the current period.
How is the activity of caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights of workers significant in strengthening the trust of the working class in the Party, the State and the Fatherland Front, my comrade?
- Comrade NGUYEN KHANG: The working class is the main productive force, playing a core role in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Caring for and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers is not only the responsibility of the Trade Union organization but also an important political task of the Party, State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front. This activity has profound significance in strengthening trust and strengthening the close relationship between the working class and the Party and the political system.
Through practical care programs and activities bearing the unique mark of the Trade Union organization such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month", "Union Shelter", "Union Member Welfare" ... union members and workers feel the care and sharing of the Party, the State and socio-political organizations. In addition, the Trade Union is increasingly active and proactive in implementing activities to protect workers' rights such as dialogues and negotiations to improve working conditions, increase salaries, ensure occupational safety and hygiene, and represent workers in litigation in court. That helps workers and their families have more confidence in the Party's leadership, social security policies and the representative role of the Trade Union in protecting their legitimate rights.
Activities to care for and protect the rights of workers not only have socio-economic significance but also have profound political significance through affirming the role of a solid bridge, strengthening the trust of union members, workers and people with the Party, State, the Fatherland Front and the Trade Union organization. That belief is the foundation for consolidating and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc in the new era of national development.
