Before the time of the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term (March 15), the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province organized 130 meetings between voters and candidates for the 2026-2031 term of the Provincial People's Council to mobilize for elections.
Through meetings, voters in the province have sent many recommendations directly related to people's lives, infrastructure in difficult areas, environment, security and order, and the effective operation of the grassroots apparatus after the merger.
According to voters' reflections, fluctuations in gasoline and oil prices have led to high prices of many essential commodities such as food, foodstuffs, agricultural supplies and services, directly affecting people's lives and production.
More worryingly, agricultural production costs are increasing while the selling prices of many agricultural products are unstable, causing the difference between cost and output to become increasingly large, especially for items such as chili peppers, melons, beans... Voters proposed that the province have solutions to support gasoline and oil prices, agricultural materials; build policies to support farmers when facing risks due to natural disasters, crop failures, and price drops to stabilize production and improve income.
Regarding infrastructure, voters proposed that the province prioritize investment in rural areas, remote and isolated areas, ethnic minority areas, especially transportation systems, electricity, domestic water, health, digital infrastructure and irrigation works serving people's livelihoods and production.
Voters also reflected that currently many rural traffic routes are degraded and damaged, causing difficulties for travel and potential risks of traffic unsafety. Therefore, it is proposed that levels and sectors soon allocate resources for repair and upgrade; install traffic lights and lighting systems in necessary locations.
Regarding disaster prevention and control, after the historic storm and flood in November 2025, many irrigation works in the province were landslides and seriously damaged. In particular, some areas along riverbanks and coasts are facing the risk of flash floods, erosion and landslides.
From reality, voters proposed that the province direct specialized sectors to urgently inspect and soon have a plan to upgrade and overcome flood overpasses; invest in sustainable construction of dykes, breakwaters, and landslide prevention works along both banks of the river... before the 2026 rainy season.
Notably, after the merger and operation under the 2-level local government model, voters believe that some commune-level cadres and civil servants have not yet met the requirements for qualifications, capacity and job position requirements; the situation of lacking cadres with in-depth expertise still exists, and it is difficult to adapt to the new management model.
Voters proposed that the province have solutions to improve the quality of commune-level cadres and civil servants; build a mechanism for training, fostering, arranging, and using cadres suitable to their job positions, meeting task requirements and ensuring effective operation.
In addition, voters also proposed that the province promote administrative procedure reform in the direction of simplification, reducing overlap, and creating more favorable conditions for people and businesses when carrying out administrative transactions, especially in the field of land.
The series of voters' petitions has been announced by Mr. Tran Minh Son - Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province - to the first session, the Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term, taking place on March 30.
Voters expect the delegates of the Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term to listen to and promptly reflect the thoughts and legitimate aspirations of the people to relevant levels and sectors, and coordinate with localities to effectively solve pressing issues.
