The VIII National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association enters its first working session

On the morning of June 16, the VIII National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term 2026-2031, officially entered its first session.

Attending the first session of the National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association (VVA) were Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong - Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association; delegates of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and 456 delegates, representing more than 3 million members from 71 VVA affiliated organizations nationwide.

The VIII National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term 2026-2031, took place on June 16 and 17 with the theme: "Promoting the nature of Uncle Ho's soldiers, tradition of Loyalty - Unity - Exemplary - Innovation; building a clean and strong Vietnam Veterans Association, excellently completing tasks".

The 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term 2026-2031, is an important political event to assess the results of the term and identify key goals, tasks, and solutions to build an increasingly strong Association organization, continuing to promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new development stage of the country.

On the morning of June 16, the Congress elected the Presidium, the Secretariat, the Judgment Appraisal Board of the Congress's delegate qualifications; approved the program and working regulations of the Congress; review report of the Central Executive Committee of the 7th Congress; summary report of opinions participating in the draft Congress documents; summary report on the implementation of the Association's Charter; report on the results of Judgment Appraisal; report on the Personnel Project of the 8th Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association; approved the list of candidates for the 8th Central Executive Committee of the Association; disseminated regulations during the Congress.

In the afternoon, the Congress will elect the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term VIII; discuss the draft Report on amending and supplementing the Charter of the Association, term VII; report on the results of the election of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term VIII; the first meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Association, term VIII; report on the results of the first meeting of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term VIII; launch the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term VIII.
