The second political commentary contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, in 2026 with the theme "Promoting the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, mass organizations assigned by the Party and State to participate in protecting the Party's ideological foundation in the new era of development" and coordinating with the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to organize the first quarter press conference in 2026.
The second political commentary contest on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, in 2026, aims to focus on building a solid "people's heart battleground" on the ideological front; enhancing "resistance" for each cadre, party member and People against distorted and sabotage arguments of hostile, reactionary, political opportunistic forces, consolidating trust, creating social consensus, and the support of a large number of international friends; protecting the election of the 16th National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; protecting the National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, and the National Congress of mass organizations assigned by the Party and State.
Through the contest, develop a widespread network on protecting the Party's ideological foundation, especially at the grassroots level, associated with the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, mass organizations assigned tasks by the Party and State; reporters of press and media agencies of socio-political organizations; union members, association members, youth, and students nationwide.
At the same time, widely spread the contest abroad to attract the widespread participation of organizations, communities and overseas Vietnamese, and foreigners interested in Vietnam.

Speaking at the contest, Lieutenant General Khuat Viet Dung - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association said that nationwide, the political commentary contest on protecting the ideological foundation of the Party has entered its sixth year. For the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and central organizations, this is the second year the contest has been organized.
The contest has made an important contribution to propaganda and political education, protecting the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against wrong and hostile views in the new situation.
In recent years, the contest has gradually affirmed its role as a prestigious political and academic forum, attracting the wide participation of a large number of officials, party members, scientists, lecturers, reporters, students and people across the country," Lieutenant General Khuat Viet Dung affirmed.
Regarding the participants in the contest, Comrade Nguyen Minh Chung - Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations said that they are party members, cadres, civil servants, public employees, union members, association members, workers working in affiliated party organizations, socio-political organizations, mass associations; cadres, reporters, editors, collaborators of press and media agencies, party organizations directly under the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations.
At the same time, expand the subjects of the exam to party members, cadres, civil servants, public employees, union members, association members, workers working outside the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations; business communities, overseas Vietnamese.
Encouraging the participation of research cadres, political theory lecturers in the national education system; students of universities and colleges, cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and laborers of central and local departments, ministries, branches, and mass organizations; members, experts, and collaborators of Steering Committee 35 at all levels; officers, cadres, and soldiers of the armed forces; reporters, editors, collaborators of press and media agencies; youth union and association cadres working at socio-political organizations, mass associations assigned tasks by the Party and State, especially the working force at the grassroots level; union members, youth, artists, and intellectuals.
Each author/group of authors is allowed to submit a maximum of 5 entries for 5 categories (1 entry per category), including:
Maximum 2 written works: 1 editorial article of the magazine category and 1 editorial article of the newspaper category. Each entry submitted to the contest includes a printed copy (A4 size, soft cover), the work file (Microsoft Word format) and a photocopy of the work published in newspapers and magazines during the contest (if any).
Maximum 3 multimedia works: 1 radio category work; 1 television category work and 1 video clip category work. Each entry includes the work file (mp3/mp4 format), script (A4 print version) and script file (Microsoft Word format) and proof of announcement during the contest (if any).
The Organizing Committee of the contest receives entries from the time of launching the Contest until the end of June 15, 2026 (calculated by postmark).
Contest organization process: Quarter I, 2026, organize the launch of the Second Contest, 2026, announce the Plan, Regulations, and Appendix to the theme of the contest.
- From now until June 15, 2026: Party organizations/political - social organizations, mass organizations assigned by the Party and State to develop work criteria consistent with the criteria of the Central and Party Committee level contests; select excellent works for awards; prepare entries to send to the Organizing Committee of the Party Committee level contest to send to the Central Government according to regulations. Written works submitted to the Central level contest must be scanned for duplication at the Party Committee to ensure the ratio of non-duplication according to regulations.
From June 15, 2026 - June 30, 2026: The Organizing Committee of the Competition will conduct screening, initial evaluation, and prepare to organize grading.
From June 30, 2026 - July 15, 2026: The Judging Council of the Contest organizes the Preliminary Round and selects entries submitted to the Central level.
From July 15, 2026 - August 30, 2026: The Judging Council of the Competition organizes the Final Round, summarizes and proposes awards.
In October 2026, organize the Announcement and Award Ceremony of the Contest in the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, and central mass organizations.
