On October 9, the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front (FFF) and Central organizations held a press conference to inform about the program to mobilize support for the Cuban people and the work of mobilizing support for people affected by natural disasters and floods.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations affirmed that the humanity and compassion of the Vietnamese people are extremely precious, not only to comrades and compatriots, but also to friends who have joined hands and contributed to support Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc noted that many people share and support voluntarily, without any constraints. Many elderly people, children, and many ordinary people came to support and then left, without having to record their names or sign their names. This spirit is not only limited to the national scope, but also a complete affection for international friends, Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc shared.
According to the Deputy Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee and Central organizations, Cuba is currently facing difficulties, Vietnam is also facing difficulties, affected by floods, but the more difficult it is, the more helping and sharing with friends shows the complete affection between the past and the past, responding to Cuba's affection.
Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoc affirmed that all the donations to the Cuban people and people affected by floods will be delivered to the right address and to the right place.
"Households that are hungry, cold, affected, or have losses will only have meaning when receiving support money, but if they are also affected but have not suffered any damage and receive it, they will find it meaningless, so it is important to transfer support to the right beneficiaries and right places to go," Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central Trade Unions Nguyen Thai Hoc stated.
Mr. Cao Xuan Thao - Member of the Presidium, Head of the Social Work Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also affirmed that the donation will go to the beneficiaries.
According to Mr. Cao Xuan Thao, the support guide of the Vietnam Fatherland Front is a guide to directly support people whose houses have been damaged, collapsed, or completely floated, dead, missing, damaged houses, or damaged crops, meaning that the support is directly provided to each family, this amount is made public.
"We have guidelines and will deploy and publicize support sources from the central to the provincial steering committee, from the provincial steering committee to the commune steering committee and from the commune level to households. This time, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien directed that in the old commune, the smaller area could only need to be listed at the headquarters of the commune People's Committee; but recently, the larger area will require the list of public support at the headquarters of the village and residential group" - Mr. Cao Xuan Thao said.
Mr. Cao Xuan Thao affirmed that all beneficiaries are listed.
By 5:00 p.m. on October 8, 2025, the total registered amount to support people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10 reached nearly 800 billion VND; many units and individuals have directly donated at the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Reception Point (46 Trang Thi, Hanoi) or transferred money to the Central Relief Mobilization Committee's account.
For the Cuban People's Support Campaign Program with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba" nationwide, as of 10:00 a.m. on October 8, 2025, the total amount of money received through the 2022 account reached more than 467 billion VND, along with more than 2 million donations, not to mention 55.9 billion VND transferred through the Red Cross Society system of provinces and cities.
