Connecting the friendship between Nghe An - Vientiane

Nghe An - Leaders of Nghe An province propose to strengthen youth exchanges, connect young entrepreneurs, and cultivate special friendship with Vientiane Capital.

On September 7, at the Office of the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province received and worked with the Youth Delegation of Vientiane Capital, Lao People's Democratic Republic.

At the working session, Mr. Hum-pheng Si-som-bat - Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union of Vientiane Capital - said that the visit aims to concretize the cooperation agreement between the two localities signed in May 2025.

Vientiane Youth wishes to strengthen experience exchange, complete the draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Youth Union organization and the Young Entrepreneurs Association of the two sides, thereby creating more opportunities for young businesses to joint venture, link up and invest.

Talking to the delegation, Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh emphasized the role of the young generation in preserving and promoting the special friendly relationship between Vietnam and Laos in general, and Nghe An - Vientiane in particular.

Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee proposed that the Youth Union organizations of the two localities strengthen the connection of the network of young entrepreneurs, promote practical cooperation programs in startups, investment and youth exchange.

One of the notable proposals is to organize an annual exchange program between young people in Nghe An and Vientiane during the summer.

Accordingly, excellent students of Nguyen Du Lao - Vietnamese Bilingual School in Vientiane can be organized to return to Nghe An to visit Uncle Ho's hometown; at the same time, Nghe An students with difficult circumstances and good academic achievements are given the opportunity to visit and exchange in Vientiane Capital.

The two sides also agreed to pay more attention to accompanying and supporting Lao students studying at universities and colleges in Nghe An.

At the reception, leaders of Nghe An province also mentioned the Hanoi - Vientiane expressway project, about 688km long. In which, the Vinh - Thanh Thuy section is more than 60km long, with a total investment of nearly 24,000 billion VND, expected to be completed in 2029.

According to leaders of Nghe An province, the road is not only of transportation and economic significance but also contributes to strengthening connectivity between the two countries.

Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh expressed her belief that the young generation of Nghe An and Vientiane will continue to become a solid bridge, contributing to preserving and nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
