On August 4, the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Stage Artists Association, term 2026-2031, took place with nearly 450 delegates, representing nearly 3,000 members nationwide.
Ms. Ha Thi Nga - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairwoman - Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - attended and delivered a directing speech.
Speaking at the Congress, People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui, Chairwoman of the IX Association, said that the Congress is themed "Solidarity - Innovation - Creativity - Contribution", organized in the context of the country entering a new stage of development with many opportunities and challenges.
According to Ms. Trinh Thuy Mui, stage art needs to continue to innovate creative thinking, improve the quality of works, promote traditional values, absorb the quintessence of human culture, apply science, technology and digital transformation to meet the cultural enjoyment needs of the people.
The Congress assessed the results of implementing the Resolution of the IX term; discussed directions, goals, tasks and solutions for the 2026-2031 term; approved the revised and supplemented Charter of the Association and the Congress Resolution; elected the Executive Committee of the X term, and consolidated leadership positions.

Speaking to direct, Ms. Ha Thi Nga emphasized that culture is a priceless asset, reflecting the identity, character and vitality of the nation. Building, preserving and promoting cultural values is the foundation for human development, consolidating the great national unity bloc and creating motivation for sustainable development.
According to her, the team of artists plays an important role in creating, preserving and spreading the values of truth, goodness, and beauty. Entering the new term, the Association needs to innovate the content and methods of operation; improve the efficiency of gathering and uniting the team of artists; build the Association into a common home for theater workers.
The Association needs to build a team of artists with political bravery, professional ethics, aspirations to contribute and social responsibility; pay attention to discovering, training, and fostering young talents; encourage artists to stick to reality and create works with high ideological and artistic value.
Ms. Ha Thi Nga also proposed to preserve and promote traditional stage types associated with innovation, cultural industry development and international integration. Preserving national identity needs to be combined with absorbing the cultural quintessence of humanity so that Vietnamese theater both retains its traditional character and has vitality in contemporary life.
Along with that, the Association needs to promote the application of science, technology and digital transformation in creation, performance, storage, promotion of works, and audience development; innovate the approach to the public, especially the younger generation.
Ms. Ha Thi Nga affirmed that the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will continue to accompany and create conditions for stage art to develop and spread human values.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee consisting of 20 people, the Standing Committee consisting of 6 people. People's Artist Trinh Thuy Mui re-elected as Chairman of the Association for the term 2026-2031. The Vice Chairmen include Doctor, playwright Nguyen Dang Chuong; People's Artist Trinh Hong Luu and People's Artist Trinh Kim Chi.
