Khanh Hoa needs an additional 60.4 billion VND to support the construction of Great Solidarity houses

Khanh Hoa - According to functional agencies, the Fund for the Poor is currently not enough to support the construction of new Great Solidarity houses for 1,007 households in particularly difficult circumstances.

According to the document responding to voters' petitions sent to the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Council in September 2026, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has informed about the review and housing support for poor households, near-poor households and households in particularly difficult circumstances in the area.

Previously, voters in Khanh Hoa province proposed that levels consider and create conditions to add more cases of people in difficult circumstances who do not have housing or are living in seriously degraded and dilapidated houses to be supported in building Great Solidarity houses.

In 2023, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Khanh Hoa province had a Regulation on mobilization, management and use of the "For the Poor" Fund of Khanh Hoa province.

Article 9 stipulates the subjects of support, content and level of expenditure of the Fund. In which, the groups of subjects supported by the Fund for the Poor include poor households, near-poor households and households in particularly difficult circumstances.

Every year, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial Fund for the Poor Mobilization Board regularly review these subjects in localities throughout the province to grasp support needs. On that basis, the Fund is considered and allocated to build Great Solidarity houses.

After Khanh Hoa province (old) and Ninh Thuan province (old) complete the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses as directed by the Prime Minister in June 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province will continue to review the housing needs of households in difficult circumstances.

After the two provinces merged in July 2025, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee issued 3 documents requesting localities to review poor households, near-poor households and households in particularly difficult circumstances that do not have housing or have degraded or heavily dilapidated houses that need to be supported to build Great Solidarity houses.

Based on the review, based on the existing Fund for the Poor of the province, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province has supported the construction of 430 new Great Solidarity houses for poor and near-poor households, with a total budget of 25.8 billion VND.

However, according to summary reports from localities, the whole province currently has 1,007 households in particularly difficult circumstances that need support.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province said that the Fund for the Poor currently does not have enough capacity to support all these households. The estimated cost needed to support the construction of new houses for households in particularly difficult circumstances is 60.4 billion VND.

To have more resources, on the occasion of the Peak Month for the Poor (from October 17 to November 18, 2017), the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee will issue letters calling and mobilizing businesses, units and philanthropists to support the Provincial Fund for the Poor.

The mobilized funds are expected to be used to continue supporting the construction of new Great Solidarity houses for households in particularly difficult circumstances in the province.
