On September 14, images of a semi-boarding meal at a primary school in Nghe An priced at 30,000 VND appeared on social networks, accompanied by dissatisfied comments from parents, saying that such a portion is less than the unit price.
The image quickly attracted attention, many opinions questioned the quantification as well as the quality of meals for students.
On September 15, exchanging about the incident, Ms. Tran Thi Man - Principal of Ha Huy Tap 2 Primary School confirmed that the image spread on social networks was the school's semi-boarding meal at lunch on September 14.
According to Ms. Man, the menu that day included white rice, snakehead fish cake, minced eggs, sweet potato vegetable soup with meat, stir-fried pumpkin and a box of TH milk. Each serving cost 30,000 VND.
The school serves about 1,800 meals for students and teachers. Due to the cramped kitchen area, not ensuring the area to organize cooking in large quantities, the provision of meals is assigned to external businesses to implement.
The principal of Ha Huy Primary School, Episode 2, said that the meal appearing on social networks does not have a milk box included, so the image does not fully show the entire menu.
However, Ms. Man also admitted that the amount of food in the trays reflected by parents is "a bit less" than the normal portion size.
According to the school, September 14th was the first day the catering unit divided food into trays. In the process of dividing, quantitative differences occurred, leading to some trays having less food than other portions.
Right in the afternoon of September 14, after receiving feedback, the school worked with the meal provider, requesting a review of the portion distribution.
The school requests businesses to ensure that the quantity between meals is uniform, in accordance with the menu and not to let the situation of some students receiving less portions recur.
