On June 26, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VGCL) held a Congress for the 2025-2030 term.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Central Trade Unions, Vice President - General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - attended and gave a speech at the Congress.
Operating in a practical and in-depth manner
The political report at the Congress stated that in the 2020-2025 term, the activities of the Party Committee and the entire system of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations will be enhanced in a practical and in-depth manner, recognized by the leaders of the Party, State, and domestic and foreign partners.
The Union has actively and proactively prepared, participated in and organized high-level foreign affairs activities of Party and State leaders, contributing to promoting cooperation between Vietnam and other countries.
At the same time, implement the organization of bilateral and multilateral people's foreign affairs activities with rich and diverse forms and contents, thereby contributing to protecting the interests of the nation and people, creating a positive and favorable social foundation for the friendly relations between the people of Vietnam and the people of the world.
One of the highlights of the past term was the work of mobilizing foreign non-governmental organizations (PCPNN). In the period of 2020 - 2025, the total value of fire prevention and fighting aid disbursed to Vietnam will reach more than 1.1 billion USD, focusing on priority areas such as overcoming the consequences of war, supporting economic development, healthcare, education, solving social problems, protecting the environment and natural resources, emergency relief due to natural disasters, etc.
The Union has also been proactive, proactive, and mobilized donations to support people affected by natural disasters and epidemics with hundreds of billions of VND.
Each Party organization must truly be a typical example of promoting democracy and solidarity
Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Central Trade Unions, Vice President - General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee -- assessed that the Party Committee of the Federation has strongly innovated its thinking, approach, organization methods and content of people's foreign affairs activities.
At the same time, actively participate in high-level foreign affairs activities of the Party and State with an increasingly methodical and professional organization, proactively organize bilateral and multilateral people's foreign affairs activities in a rich and effective manner, and at the same time make efforts in mobilizing anti-corruption.
Nearly 50 activities within the framework of the High-level Delegation, 18 Cooperation Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding, the total value of government fee aid disbursed to Vietnam reached nearly 1.1 billion USD. These are telling numbers, demonstrating the important contributions of the Union of Friendship Organizations in the work of people's affairs of the Party and State over the past 5 years", Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha emphasized and stated that the Union also actively participated in the general activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, responding to the emulation movements launched by the Prime Minister and the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
Expressing her agreement with the direction, goals, tasks, and breakthrough solutions stated in the political report, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha said that in the era of deep integration, people's foreign affairs work has increasingly played a key role in building a comprehensive, multilateral diplomatic situation, effectively serving the interests of the nation and people.
Based on clearly identifying the role and responsibility of Party committees and organizations in leading and organizing the implementation of the organization's political tasks, based on reality and requirements for people's foreign affairs in the new situation, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha suggested that the Party Committee of the Federation proactively review and adjust and supplement the action plan, vision, and development strategy for the organization; improve the quality of strategic consultation work, continue to strongly innovate thinking, methods, approaches, and content of people's foreign affairs activities according to assigned functions and tasks.
Affirming that the Union is a responsible member, a core member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's people's foreign affairs work, to do this, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha "comments" the Union's chairmans to coordinate with professional departments and organizations in the Party Committee to build a People's External Affairs Strategy in the new situation, to implement the people's foreign affairs activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front system in a unified, synchronous, comprehensive and effective manner.
Thereby, maximizing the strength of the entire Vietnam Fatherland Front system, socio-political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and the State to effectively participate in people's foreign affairs activities, contributing to creating a positive and favorable social foundation for the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha believes that with political determination, solidarity, unity, discipline and responsibility, the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Union for the 2025-2030 term will successfully implement the Congress Resolution, build a strong and professional Party Committee, and excellently complete its tasks.
