On August 26, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting with representatives of all religions. The event was held at Doan An, nurse 198, Lam Vien - Da Lat ward, Lam Dong province.
Attending the ceremony were Ms. Pham Thi Phuc - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Luu Van Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Da Cat Vinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Dinh Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee.
Also attending were leaders of departments, branches, sectors, leaders of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, and nearly 100 outstanding officials of religions in Lam Dong province.
This is the first conference to meet with representatives of the regions of the religions after the merger and establishment of the new province. The conference was held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2).
Here, a representative of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province said that Lam Dong currently has 49 ethnic groups living with a total population of over 3.8 million people. Of which, over 683.3 thousand people are ethnic minorities, accounting for about 17.6% of the province's population.
This locality currently has 24 religious organizations recognized by the State that are operating, with over 1.67 million members, accounting for about 43% of the province's population. At the same time, there are 3,500 titles, 6,700 positions, 1,292 legitimate religious establishments and 4 religious training establishments.
According to the assessment, religious activities in Lam Dong province are stable, complying with the law, ensuring the charter, regulations, teachings, purposes and guiding motto of the religions.
The religious community has made important contributions, accompanying, attaching to the government, developing the economy and building a cultural and spiritual life in the local community...
This meeting is an opportunity to exchange, listen to the thoughts, aspirations and reflections and recommendations of the religious community, and jointly build and strengthen the great national unity bloc.
Thereby, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province continues to improve the coordination and unification program; promote the spirit of patriotism and responsibility of the people, build a comprehensive and sustainable local development.
