On May 6, information from the People's Committee of Lao Cai province said that the program to support the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses for children of resistance war activists infected with chemical toxins is being focused on by all levels and sectors in the province, initially achieving positive results.
According to the review, the whole province has 157 households eligible for support, of which 104 households need to build new houses and 53 households repair houses. Immediately after the plan was issued, departments, branches and localities urgently got involved and organized synchronous implementation.

The Department of Home Affairs, Department of Construction and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province have issued specific guidelines, urging localities to implement them.
The Department of Construction provides 5 model houses suitable for actual conditions; the Department of Home Affairs guides the process; the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee proactively connects, proposes financial support and guides the reception of resources.
At the grassroots level, 100% of communes and wards with beneficiaries have developed implementation plans; 40/42 localities have approved the list, creating conditions to accelerate progress.
By May 4, 2026, the whole province had started construction of 51/157 houses, reaching 32.48% of the plan; of which 39 houses were newly built and 12 houses were repaired. Currently, 1 house has been completed, and 50 houses are under construction.
Some localities proactively mobilize more socialized resources to support people.

Typically, Yen Binh and Bao Ai communes each mobilized about 5 tons of cement; the army, police, and militia forces actively supported working days, contributing to reducing costs and shortening construction time.
However, the implementation process is still difficult as funds from the Central Government have not been allocated; some localities are slow to complete procedures, affecting the commencement progress.
Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee requests localities to continue to accelerate the completion of dossiers, start construction of the remaining households, and strive to complete the entire program before July 25, 2026.

At the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision, promptly remove obstacles, ensure effective and targeted program implementation, contributing to stabilizing the lives of policy families.
