At the 1st Congress of the Can Tho City Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, Mr. Tran Van Chinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City - emphasized: Great solidarity is a precious tradition, an invaluable asset of the nation. Since its establishment, the Front has gathered all classes of people into a unified bloc in will, spirit and action, creating great strength to complete the revolutionary goals initiated and led by the Party.
Mr. Chinh said that in recent times, the Front system at all levels in Can Tho has promoted its role in presiding over coordination, developing a program to unify actions, mobilizing people to participate in campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, contributing to socio-economic development, improving material and spiritual life.
Typical movements, such as "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses", have built and repaired more than 15,000 houses for poor households, near-poor households and meritorious people, helping each family to rise up, stabilize their lives, work and study with peace of mind. The Great National Unity Festival is held periodically, becoming an opportunity to evaluate activities, strengthen the spirit of patriotic emulation, focus on the grassroots and care for people's lives.
On the occasion of welcoming the Congress, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City launched more than 290 projects and tasks with a total value of over 117.6 billion VND; coordinated to organize 2 seminars on sustainable socio-economic development for ethnic minorities and preserving and promoting cultural values, creating sustainable livelihoods for the poor and Khmer people.
The Front at all levels actively grasps the thoughts, aspirations, and public opinion of the people, participates in dialogues, contacts with voters, reflects to Party committees and authorities, contributes to stabilizing society, strengthens people's trust, promotes the strength of great solidarity in building and developing the socio-economy, and protects the Fatherland.
In response to the policy of rearranging administrative units, the Front at all levels determined that activities must be focused and key, closely following the common tasks of the city, aiming to represent and protect the legitimate rights of the people, becoming a bridge between the people and the Party and the government, guiding the organization of self-management activities at the grassroots level.
The leader of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City said that in order to promote the strength of great national unity, effectively implement emulation movements and campaigns, and contribute to building a rapid and sustainable city, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city will continue to focus on directing the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to implement key solutions.
In particular, focusing on raising awareness of the role of Ho Chi Minh's ideology in great solidarity, innovating the content and methods of operation close to the grassroots, promoting the core role in emulation movements, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people. Propaganda work is promoted, encouraged to be creative, dare to think, dare to do, linking emulation movements with commendation and honoring typical individuals and groups.
The Front continues to monitor, provide social criticism, and contribute ideas to build the Party and government, ensuring the grassroots democratic regulations of "People know, people discuss, people do, people inspect, people supervise, people benefit". Emulation movements are organized practically, focusing on the grassroots, improving the quality of the self-management model, associated with "All people unite to build new rural areas, civilized urban areas", "The whole country joins hands for the poor" and "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods"...
