Taking the grassroots as the area, people as the center
On August 25, at the Central - Central Highlands region conference with the theme "Promoting the strength of great national unity in the new context", Mr. Ho Van Lien, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tra Leng commune, Da Nang city, said that the requirement to innovate the methods of Front activities in localities first of all stems from the characteristics of the area and people's lives.

Tra Leng is a mountainous commune of Da Nang City, established on the basis of merging Tra Don commune and Tra Leng commune. After the merger, the commune has a natural area of 22,115 ha, a population scale of more than 7,200 people/1850 households/6 villages.
Ethnic minorities, mainly Ca Dong and Mo Nong people, account for 95% of the commune's population structure.
The area is large, the population distribution is not concentrated, many residential areas are far from the commune center, traffic and access to information are still difficult.
Notably, 3 villages in the area including Moang Roang, Sar Chia and Tak Cleng have not fully accessed information via telephone and internet.
According to Mr. Ho Van Lien, with this characteristic, if the Front's activities only rely on focused meetings, documents or electronic information channels, it will be difficult to oversee the people's situation.
Therefore, Front officials must proactively go to the grassroots level, find ways to reach out to the people. At the same time, innovate propaganda methods in a flexible, easy-to-understand and suitable direction for each population group.
Mr. Lien added that in the first 6 months of 2026, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tra Leng commune, Da Nang city, coordinated to organize 18 direct propaganda conferences in villages, attracting more than 2,350 participants. Propaganda work through the loudspeaker system, Facebook social network and residential area activities was carried out more than 65 times.
Notably, the Commune Front has received 106 opinions and recommendations from the people. Focusing on administrative procedures, land, social security and people's livelihood issues to summarize and transfer to competent agencies for consideration and resolution.
These results show that the Front's activities in Tra Leng are gradually shifting from one-way propaganda to creating a two-way exchange channel. Through this, grasping the thoughts, aspirations and issues arising right from the grassroots level.
Promoting community strength, creating sustainable livelihoods
At the workshop, Mr. Lien further presented that a highlight in the Front's activities in Tra Leng is connecting social resources to care for social security and support people, especially poor households and families facing difficulties.
From November 2025 to now, the total resources mobilized by the commune have reached more than 3.75 billion VND, not using the State budget. Of which, 67 million VND was mobilized through the Account of the Fund for Mobilizing Relief and more than 3.68 billion VND was directly supported by 47 charity delegations in the locality.
In addition, charity delegations also supported more than 6 tons of goods, worth over 3 billion VND, contributing to supporting more than 10,000 people. The commune Fatherland Front coordinated to provide support to 191 families with a total amount of nearly 117 million VND.
From this reality, the Tra Leng Front sets out the requirement to shift from "support" to "accompanying", not only helping people overcome immediate difficulties but also working with people to find directions to promote internal strength and develop sustainable livelihoods.

Mr. Lien said that Tra Leng has its own advantages to develop livelihoods such as cinnamon trees, agricultural products, OCOP products and the cultural identity of the Ca Dong and Mo Nong people.
Promoting local products, including activities associated with the 1st Tra Leng Huong Que Festival in 2026, is considered a direction to promote the available resources of the locality.
In addition to taking care of social security, the Front determines to strengthen supervision of issues of public concern such as support policies, investment projects, relief, land, environment, transportation and social security.
Mr. Lien further emphasized that in the coming time, the Tra Leng Front will continue to aim for the application of digital transformation suitable for mountainous conditions, but not to let technology replace directly reaching people.
The "Digital Front" must go hand in hand with the "Grassroots Front", technology must support officials to grasp people faster, bring information to the people more promptly and serve the people better.
