The Congress was attended by Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - former Politburo member, former President; Mr. Tran Luu Quang - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Huynh Dam - former member of the Party Central Committee, former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Committee for Policy and Strategy; Mr. Phan Van Mai - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Economic and Financial Committee.
At the Congress, Mr. Tran Luu Quang - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, gave an important speech, emphasizing the goals and solutions to enhance the role of the Front in the new era.
Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang affirmed that solidarity is a precious tradition of the nation, inherited and promoted by President Ho Chi Minh. At the same time, the Secretary of the City Party Committee thoroughly grasped the direction of General Secretary To Lam: "The front is the people. The Front is the most widely gathered place of the masses. The strength of the Front is the strength of the people's hearts".
Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang suggested that Party committees and Party organizations directly under the City Party Committee must lead, direct and create favorable conditions for the two-level Fatherland Front to operate, focusing on three main contents.
First, continue to affirm the goal of "Taking the people as the center, taking practical efficiency as a measure". Ensure the right to know, be discussed, be done, be inspected and enjoyed by the people. Improve the quality and effectiveness of supervision and social criticism; synchronously implement supervision by the People - Front - Press.
The Front must truly be a bridge connecting the people with the Party and the government. We need to listen patiently, respond responsibly and courageously correct the wrong things.
"The happiness, satisfaction and trust of the people are the clearest proof of the results in all activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City", emphasized Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang.
Second, the Front needs to do a good job of mobilizing and launching many charity programs in a timely manner, attracting people to participate.
Activities must be associated with progress and social justice, contributing to building Ho Chi Minh City into a place where all people have the opportunity to develop, receive health care, education, and living environment, so that "no one is left behind".
Third, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and socio-political organizations of Ho Chi Minh City need to deploy the application of information technology, establish digital information channels and digital applications to expand the great solidarity bloc.
Encourage and mobilize resources from experts, scientists, human beings, intellectuals, businessmen, and prestigious people from ethnic groups and religions to participate. Regularly discover and promptly commend and reward silent but noble examples.
The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee emphasized a key task of building a team of Front cadres with strong political stance and diverse soft skills (focusing on digital skills), to serve the construction of a lean, compact, strong and smart two-level government.
The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee suggested that there should be a real attention to planning, training, building a team of Front cadres in a practical and long-term manner, ensuring inheritance and innovation.
