On October 22, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province said that in the past time, the unit has deployed and implemented many solutions to ensure school security and safety and prevent and combat school violence throughout the province, however, in some localities, there are still cases of students fighting.

Typically, recently, two students of Dang Thai Mai High School (in Quang Binh commune) got into a fight and stabbed each other, causing one student to die. Immediately after the incident, the Department issued a document directing the school to continue to grasp the situation; leaders, homeroom teachers and mass organizations to visit and share with the students' families; and at the same time coordinate with authorities to clarify the incident.
"With the incidents of students participating in fights and serious fights, in addition to requiring schools (where there are students fighting) to urgently clarify, the Department also directs all other schools and educational institutions to resolutely rectify school discipline and order; promptly detect and prevent conflicts and disruptions between students and strengthen propaganda and implement solutions to ensure school safety both inside and outside the school" - said a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa.
According to Thanh Hoa Provincial Police, recently, school violence has become more dangerous and increasingly serious. It is worth mentioning that the cause only comes from small conflicts and collisions such as fighting, confusion while playing, misunderstandings on social networks...
The underlying reason for the inability to prevent school violence is partly due to shortcomings in the management and education of schools and families. Many parents have not paid due attention to their children's studies and activities, and have not paid attention to educating them about life skills and moral values.
In addition, due to immature psychology, many students want to express themselves, are easily agitated, cannot control their emotions, leading to violent behavior.
To prevent and stop school violence, in recent times, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to step up propaganda, inspection and prevention of students from bringing weapons, weapons, prohibited objects such as knives, cages, cones, iron pipes, etc. to school; at the same time, promptly detect and handle conflicts between students.
For schools and parents, it is necessary to coordinate more closely in managing and educating children; paying attention to friendship and extracurricular activities. It is necessary to review and detect early students who are addicted to playing, dropping out of school, addicted to games, using e-cigarettes or stimulants to take preventive measures.
For students, when discovering a conflict or fight between friends, they should immediately report it to adults, teachers or authorities; absolutely do not cheer, film or participate in fights.
Shocking student fights
Previously, as reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, in October 2024, in Thai Son village, Tan Phuc commune, old Nong Cong district (now Trung Chinh commune, Thanh Hoa province), a group of female students used their hands, feet and helmets to attack student L.V.G.N. (grade 11 student, Nong Cong 2 High School), causing the victim to suffer neck injury, causing health damage of 23%.

The incident caused great damage not only to the students who were beaten but also to the students who participated in beating up their friends. After that, the People's Court of Region 2 - Thanh Hoa brought the case to trial, sentencing the case to 15 to 19 months in prison but suspended the sentences for 6 female students participating.
Another incident occurred on the afternoon of September 20, 2025 in the old Dinh Tang commune (now Yen Dinh commune, Thanh Hoa province), when an 8th grade male student murdered an 8-year-old girl (a cousin), then put the body in a sack and took it to the corner of the garden to hide. The cause was determined to be just a small conflict, competing for items, leading to particularly serious consequences.
Most recently, at noon on October 17, in Quang Binh commune (Thanh Hoa province), P.T.B.N. (born in 2009, residing in village 6, students of class 11A9) and student L.Q.H. (born in 2008, residing in An Toan village, Luu Ve commune, student of class 12A8), all studying at Dang Thai Mai High School, had a fight.
Initial investigation shows that the two students did not have a conflict before but due to a rash during physical education class. After dropping out of school, L.Q.H. with L.D.A. (born in 2008, residing in Tien Thon village, Quang Binh commune) blocked the road, used his hands, feet and helmet to hit P.T.B.N. While being beaten, P.T.B.N. pulled out a switchblade and stabbed L.Q.H., causing the victim to die later.
