Hanoians donate hundreds of gifts to help Thai Nguyen overcome floods

HUYỀN TRANG - TRÂM ANH |

During the days of heavy floods and storms in the North, many people in the capital joined hands to donate, send relief goods, and share difficulties with people in flooded areas.

Recently, due to the impact of consecutive storms, people in the Northern provinces have suffered heavy losses in terms of human lives and property.

Amidst the difficulties of the monkey, relief trucks are rolling, bringing the warmth of humanity from all over the country.

The volunteer group of Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (Ha Dong ward, Hanoi) consisting of 7 people and 2 pickup trucks decided to drive themselves to Thai Nguyen to provide relief to people in flooded areas.

"The group of 7 people and 2 pickup trucks will move today (October 11) to the Thai Nguyen area. There are many households and schools in need of support. Everyone contributed a little, whoever had rice gave rice, some clothes gave clothes'', Mr. Tuan said.

From October 9 to now, the delegation has called on more than 14 groups and individuals in Hanoi to join hands to contribute more than 80 boxes of goods, 200kg of food, hundreds of sets of warm clothes, medicine, milk, books and cash to the people in the flooded areas of Thai Nguyen.

'Seeing the situation of people being isolated for many days, my brothers and I just thought we had to leave immediately. We do not expect anything big, we just hope that people have food and clothing to wear during difficult times, Mr. Tuan shared.

Mr. Doan Viet Anh (Ha Dong ward, Hanoi) traveling on the same relief bus expressed his concern: "Currently, there are only a few roads that can move into deeply flooded areas due to rising water. We continuously update the situation at flooded areas, clearly understanding the necessities that people need most to promptly deliver to their hands".

Unable to go directly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong (Hanoi) still sent her heart by donating nearly 100 boxes of milk, 2 boxes of instant noodles, dry goods and clothes to people in flooded areas.

"Compatriots are in trouble, we are heartbroken. Seeing someone posting an appeal, I contributed a little. I work with my heart, just hoping to help more people, Ms. Hong confided.

Hopefully, with the cooperation of the community, Thai Nguyen people and people in flooded areas will soon overcome the loss, stabilize their lives, and return to a peaceful life.

After the storm, the spirit of solidarity and humanity of the Vietnamese people was lit up again - becoming a warm support in the midst of difficult days.
