On the afternoon of October 11, the People's Committee of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward (Hanoi) had information related to the fire that killed 5 people at a house in the ward.
Accordingly, the burned house has a floor area of 40m2; a scale of 4 floors and a house for living, without a combination of production and business.
The fire broke out at around 5:30 a.m. on October 11. After receiving the information, the Command Information Center - Hanoi City Police mobilized the Fire Prevention and Rescue Team of Area No. 9 and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Area No. 10 - Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to dispatch 4 fire trucks, along with more than 30 officers and soldiers to quickly arrived at the scene, coordinating with units, functional forces, and on-site fire prevention and fighting forces of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward.
The fire was extinguished at around 6:15 a.m., preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent houses
The fire killed 5 people in the house, including: Mr. N.D.L (born in 1952); Ms. H.T.H (born in 1956, Mr. N.D.L's wife); Mr. N.H.M (born in 1982, Mr. N.D.L's daughter); Ms. D.T.S (born in 1988, Mr. N.H.M's wife); N.M.V (born in 2019, Mr. N.H.M's daughter).
The initial preliminary cause of the fire was assessed to be a motorbike fire on the 1st floor; the fire spread to the upper floor. Currently, the authorities of Hanoi City and the People's Committee of the ward are checking and clarifying.

After extinguishing the fire, leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, leaders of the Department of Health, departments and branches, together with the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, the Party Committee of the residential area, the residential group, and the community, immediately met with relatives of the family to visit and encourage and share the pain and loss that the family suffered in the fire, agree with the family to work to implement policies, mobilize local support for the family and organize funerals for the victims.
In case the house caught fire, the People's Committee of the ward and the Steering Committee for Fire Prevention and Rescue of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam ward coordinated with the Hanoi Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to propagate, guide, and train skills on fire prevention and rescue; the family was propagandized, trained and signed a commitment to implement the contents of fire prevention and rescue, ensuring a safe escape route.
"In fact, the family's house has many escape routes, but due to a fire in the early morning; the time when the victims may be sleeping, they were suffocated by smoke so they could not escape outside in time," informed the People's Committee of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam Ward.
