Attending the Congress were Mr. Dinh Hong Thai - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance; Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Vice Chairman of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee; and 196 official delegates representing member cooperatives (HTX) throughout the province.
By the end of 2025, the whole province has 358 cooperatives with nearly 9,900 members, with a total charter capital of over 1,038 billion VND. Of which, 231 cooperatives are operating, creating jobs for more than 7,600 workers. In the period 2020-2025, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance advised and supported the establishment of 172 new cooperatives, exceeding 56% of the set plan.
In the new term, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance determines to continue to consolidate and improve the operational efficiency of cooperatives; promote production linkages according to the value chain, apply science and technology, digital transformation and develop cooperative models associated with the new rural construction program, sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas.
The Congress also elected the Executive Committee of the Provincial Cooperative Alliance, term VI, 2026-2030 with 35 comrades and passed the Congress Resolution with the determination to continue to promote the role of the collective economic sector, making positive contributions to the socio-economic development goals of Dien Bien province in the coming period.
Mr. Phi Van Duong continued to be trusted and elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Alliance term VI, term 2026-2030.
The Congress focused on discussing a number of solutions for collective economic development in building new rural areas; the linkage between Cooperatives and businesses; the issue of developing community tourism associated with the cultural identity of ethnic groups...
On this occasion, Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 1 individual; The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance awarded Medals for the Cause of Cooperative Development to 9 individuals.
