On the evening of March 9, within the framework of the Ban Flower Festival 2026, at 7/5 Square, Dien Bien province organized a street carnival program with the participation of nearly 3,000 actors, artists and people of ethnic groups, creating a colorful night festival on the streets.
The Street Carnival program includes 14 blocks, with the highlight being the street cultural parade "Dien Bien welcomes the new day". In which, there is the participation of the Vietnam Circus Federation, Hanoi Street Dance Group, students, teachers of the Department of Education and Training and a large number of people from communes and wards in the province.
According to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, the parade blocks departed from 7/5 Square, moving along Vo Nguyen Giap street. After that, the delegation proceeded to the Dien Bien Phu Victory Monument roundabout, crossed Thanh Binh bridge, continued to Muong Thanh Hotel and ended at Nguyen Huu Tho street.
With a distance of about 2 km, artists and the public dedicated eye-catching performances, attracting tens of thousands of people and tourists standing crowded on both sides of the road cheering.
Participating in the performance, friend An Hong Phuc - Dien Bien Provincial Ethnic Minority Boarding High School said: "When I heard the school choose people to perform, I was very happy. The training process was a bit tiring, but being in the same atmosphere with everyone at the first year Carnival of the province, I felt very happy and excited.
Leaders of Dien Bien Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the organization of Street Carnival within the framework of the Ban Flower Festival 2026 has created a new, lively, and attractive highlight to promote and introduce the tourism development potential of the province.
Along with that is promoting the strengths of community activities in the cultural and artistic movement. Mobilizing a large number of mass actors who are students, clubs, and art troupes to participate, thereby spreading the spirit of community cohesion.
The organization of the first street Carnival in Dien Bien province has the meaning of opening up a new approach in festival organization, gradually building typical cultural and tourism products of the province" - the Department leader added.
Also on the evening of March 9, Dien Bien province organized high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks displays to serve people and tourists within the framework of the Ban Flower Festival 2026.
The fireworks display time will last for 15 minutes, from 9:45 pm to 10 pm in the Nam Rom riverside area, near Muong Thanh bridge (Dien Bien Phu ward).
With a scale of 800 high-altitude firecrackers and 60 low-altitude firecrackers, the program brought a brilliant light show in the Dien Bien sky.
