After 2 days of working with a spirit of urgency and seriousness, on August 28, the 1st Congress of the An Giang Provincial Journalists Association, term 2026-2031, successfully closed. As the first congress after the decision to merge the two localities An Giang and Kien Giang, the event completed personnel work and consolidated the leadership apparatus. Mr. Tan Van Ngu was re-elected as Chairman, directly leading the Association organization to enter the stage of development and comprehensive digital transformation.
In addition, the Standing Committee of the Association includes: Mr. Doan Hong Phuc (Standing Vice Chairman), Ms. Pham Gia Khanh (Vice Chairman) and Mr. Le Van Chuyen (Non-professional Vice Chairman). The Congress also elected an Executive Committee of 14 members, of which the Standing Committee includes 5 members.
Entering the 2026 - 2031 term, the An Giang Provincial Journalists Association has identified its operating motto: "Solidarity - Creativity - Professionalism - Humanity".

The key task of the Association in this period is to promote digital transformation and maintain professional ethics. In the context of the press shifting strongly to the digital environment, the Association will focus on applying technology to manage members, organize activities and provide professional and publishing support to press agencies. At the same time, the Association focuses on building a team of capable cadres who can quickly adapt to new requirements; especially prioritizing promoting the role of dynamic, creative young journalists who dare to face challenges.
In parallel with innovating operating methods, the Association sets high requirements for political bravery and professional ethics; strengthening the fight against manifestations of negativity, profiteering and violations of professional ethics. With a consolidated apparatus after the merger, the An Giang Provincial Journalists Association aims to build a united, professional organization, strongly gathering journalists and improving the quality of press activities in the area.
